Canes fan: I’m pulling for the Oilers mainly because I like to see the cup going to different teams. Dynasties are cool in their own way, but I like to see the glory passed around. McJesus winning the cup would be an emotional moment for Oiler fans. And as for Canadian hockey fans, bringing the cup home is a point of great pride. Personally, I was hoping for a rematch between the Canes and Oilers, but that wasn’t in the cards. Our retooling is still in progress and we aren’t at that level—yet! Maybe next year. So Go Oilers. All I know is that this 5-day delay snuffed out my anticipation for the start of this Cup Final.
Marchand will be the difference this season for Florida. But Edmonton is looking different & better.

I don't think they have actual skill they bully and frustrate the opposing team by doing illegal stuff that go uncalled and then after other teams get rattled they jump on the opportunities

X factor for each team will be Nugent Hopkins for the Oilers he has to have a monster Conn Smythe performance if Florida shuts down Edmonton's top weapons. And for the Oilers it's Skinner they'll live or die depending on which one shows up.

Bennett, Tkachuk, Ekblad, and even Marchant will deliberately attempt to injure to win. Let's see if Nurse, Kane, and Frederic step up when needed.

Cats third line is the X-Factor.
They are a top line for many teams in the NHL, and Lundell is shockingly underrated by many self-professed knowledgeable hockey fans.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Barkov line starts against the McDavid line, but then it switches to the Lundell line against McDavid's line.
I think they can do as much to slow McDavid's line as the Cat's first line (which is to say, not a whole lot) – and this frees up Barkov to run roughshod over the Oilers second and third lines.

Sneaky x-factor pick for the Oilers is Podkolzin – been a consistent grinder the whole playoffs but is showing up even more in the finals. In game 1 he had the beautiful heads-up drop pass to screen play on the Arvidsson goal, then almost got the game winner late in the third with a strong drive to the net. I hope to see a clutch goal from him in the series!
After the first game, we now see that Oilers forecheck can trap the Panthers in their zone for two periods in a row. And that Edmonton players are so talented that they win almost every battle along the boards.
