Then single reason this is a bad move is because it blocks other players of spots that they deserve to play. Mojo has done NOTHING to keep a spot in this line up. I don’t even want him on the 4th line because his style of play doesn’t mesh on a fourth line.

I will lead off with adding that I get as frustrated with carcass johnason as anyone. However at this price and someone who can skate on any line and move the puck, I don’t hate it. He can help in the bottom 6 and occasionally looks like a hockey player. People who are bitching about this don’t understand how good of a skater he actually is.

I wonder if maybe its further mentoring for the Ohgren who is also a sweed? But if that were the case I would have expected to see that combo more in the last season. Not sure, Johansson is serviceable but really streaky, but the positive streaks seem to be shorter than the negative. I dunno on this one, I would hope this is for the 4th line at best.
For Rossi, I've thought about it over the last week, IMO he doesn't fit this roster, he doesn't work that great with Boldy for some reason, and isn't physical enough for the 3C (his effort is there, not questioning that), and I think we can all agree that he is not a 1C (yet?). We had a good 2 month sample for him to take over the team and didn't, that to me is the difference. I do believe he will be successful in this lead, but for this team how its built now I don't think he is the fit. Just one dumbass's take on things.
Sign a player that played a top 6 roll last year to a min contract for 1 year, prudent.
Competition is possible only with an equal footing. If Ohgren doesn't come in to the season in shape and play hard to earn a spot on the roster. He is shipped off for polishing. Mojo, or anyone else, should be held to the same standard.
Whatever BG said I think was genuine. But, he and Hynes can't hide from the move to bury him on a 4th line and the reasons why. Rossi wanting to move is warranted.

Apologies everyone, I am the minority. I just love having Johansson ***as a bottom six***, possibly bottom 3. He had quite a good season and he is the fastest in a team that needs speed. He is the most underrated, and he pays the price of having been required to step up to positions (top 6) that are just not his. For the money, a bargain. Would love to see hom with Trenin and Rossi on the 4th line 😀
Couldn't Guerin give Rossi $4M to $5M for first year with 10-15% increases every following year to backload the contract to meet Rossi expectations but make AAV more in line with MNWild/Guerin's expectations? Or is Guerin really stuck in his own rigid viewpoint?
NHL Contracts allow up to a 25% differential between salary for each year of the term.
Salary cap is projected to go up every year for at least 3 years.

Shocker? Probably take that down a notch. Am I fan of the guy? Nah. Not at all. But, for 50k above league minimum, he's fine and they can cut bait on him pretty easy if they need to. The whining about it is pretty clownish and over the top though. lol.
The Wild need to draft kids that end up being CHL, NCAA or European studs. Those are the players that will be on the team immediately or after 1 season in the AHL.
