  1. If old core not make space to new young core, then probably next season will be type and result as it was previously

  2. You present it as an either/or proposition, meaning "Either" you sign Marner "Or" you play the young guys. You can do both you know. Villie, Rutger, and Pickering call all play and the team can still sign a high-ticket free agent. It would mean no more playing time for Lizotte or other players that won't be here after the season anyway. It is really not that hard to accomplish.

  3. Good morning DK, Taylor, and whomever else is in the DK world. You make perfect sense with choosing words and how they're use, Dk! Spot-on! Dr Jordan Peterson, a Canadian world renowned psychologist, emphasizes the use of words are the most powerful thing you own and to be educated, I am not, in language and the use of them are so terribly important.

Ok, now onto the fun stuff lol With 21+$ million (I had thought I read it was 23+$) and if we trade Karlsson's 10$, even retaining 3$ would take us to 7$ and bump the total to then 28+$. With Dubas's own comments of "young, talented, not 28-31 year old free agents" he also said something along another year away or so and willing to trade assets to acquire. So, with Rossi and Peterka, both 23 years of age, both at ends with their current teams, and are taking calls, would it not be the time, even if its a year away, to go after these guys!? Yes, both are smaller the solution to that is the other winger being a bigger, more rugged guy. Both reportedly looking for around 7$ a year, which I believe, 😅 had to throw in the emoji there DK, is going to turn out to be a steal in no time!! They're both "young, talented, not 28-31 years old free agents " PERFECT for what Dubas wants AND are somewhat stars in the making, which the reports on Ville & Rutger aren't. That our two guys may be great supporting casts. If 7×7.5$ work for both we still have approximately 13+$ left and Geno's last year what he could teach them, Sid could teach Rossi for the next few years, and more cap space next year going up and Geno's 6.1 we'd be in another great position! I haven't looked thoroughly through next years RFA's or free agents yet to think about too. I didn't even mention Rakell and what he may fetch this off-season along with Karlsson……thoughts?

  4. Dump Jarry and get a real starting goalie. Dump graves by any means. Then shore up the defense and maybe a high end scoring forward.

  5. I think I want the Pens to RFA Evan Bouchard! Probably would need to trade EK to make the time on ice work out. But, I would be willing to part with the 1, 2, and 3 that it would probably cost.

  6. DK – Long-winded question here… There is definitely a way to balance keeping roster spots for the youngsters while bolstering this lineup to contend. This may be a video-game-minded way of looking at it due to the vast amount of transactions, but you can move a host of players. Heinen, Acciari, Karlsson, Lizotte and possibly Hayes can all be moved. Players like Bennett(who could center Geno), Provorov and Gavrikov can be signed. Young(er) players like Peterka, Rossi, Byram or Hague can be acquired, or at least attempted to be acquired, while still leaving spots open for players like Koivunen, McGroarty, Pickering and Hallander to win and develop at a normal pace. Wouldn't this follow the model of teams like Washington and LA?

  7. I doubt we get close to the cap this season, but I do expect Dubas to go after some RFAs that teams can't afford to pay, and about half that cap space will go to them.

If Marner wants to come to Pittsburgh, I'm signing Mitch Marner. I doubt he does. I'd think we'd be looking at trades for guys like Bowen Byram, JJ Peterka, Maverick Borque (and anyone on Dallas's cap strapped roster for that matter), Nick Hague etc. Go figure out who is an offer sheet candidate and offer more than the offer sheet comp.

  8. Bring in the young players and make the defense better. Stop those brake away plays that come back to haunt the team. Thank you DK
