this team is a waste of time. nylander already alluding to learning lessons again. how low must your IQ be to be learning the same thing for 9 years. YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY TRY IN THE PLAYOFFS, SHOCKING STUFF. they did the mail-in thing against boston, 18+19. don't show up for games 1-2 in 2018, series is over before you blink. the fact is goes 7 means nothing. i knew this series was over when stolarz got brained because i don't think much of woll. that's great he has an ok game every 3rd game. you need a guy a lot more consistent than that to go anywhere.
For those of you who are old enough, remember Guy Lafleur as a captain, he did it all and carried the team on his back in the playoffs. Jean Beliveau did the same before him.
Those were captains, that's why Montreal won so many cups

Another tell of Matthews not being a true leader is that he doesn’t make the players around him better. He has never played in the top line without Marner or Nylander. The real leaders like Crosby, MacKinnon, Draisalt, McDavid, Pasternak, Kopitar, etc etc. can carry their line. They only need supporting players, or “passengers”, and they make them better in the process

38:34 kyper lays into them about the money. There's a sort of catch 22 there because none of them were ever going to turn down the money for a real shot at winning (somewhere else). Which is what makes the whole thing feel like a facade. I want to be the best/highest paid but I'm ok with losing. End of an era with majority of cap towards 4 guys. How the England men's team fail all the time, how Brazil haven't been successful in a long time despite their talent, Belgium's recent so-called "golden generation". That's real pressure.
