Very good logic from the 3 of ya. CAPTAIN SERIOUS!!!! JT's leadership, hockey IQ, Face-offs, PK, etc… etc… would be good to have. He's a born winner / leader. 12 – 15 minutes per game as a "Specialist". Put him where ya need him (Right now… a LOT of places). Good news story for Winnipeg if he signs with the Jets. Great for ticket sales as well. Winnipeg loves JT, so Win, Win, Win.
Eventually they are going to have to start a rebuild sooner or later. They are going to loose Ehlers for sure, like to seem him go to MTL and play with Liane again. I think with the team they have right now, they should go for it one last time and sign Toews . The rebuild will becoming…
If Ehlers is gone, Jets gonna take a step back next year. He was key to the PP resurgence and one of the better fwds in playoff. Huge hole in 2nd line and top 6.

I think toews would help people like chibrikov, Lambo, barron, gusbus, even schiefelle. Get them better at faceoffs. Could be huge for fets too.
Captain Serious could be a great role model for the Jets. The Oilers have shown that there's advantages to having an old superstar in your lineup, I wouldn't doubt if Toews could bring as much as Perry brings to the Oil.
I think nobody is giving Toews the respect he deserves and I think he would easily fit into any NHL roster and be competitive. Perry is 40 and scoring more goals in the playoffs than the young guys, Toews is a repeat cup winner and would be a massive benefit to this team post regular season. I believe Toews to be a selfless individual rather than a selfish one. So if he's saying he's ready to come back, he'll still be driven with competitiveness and with the team's best interest in mind. He wont slam on Chevvy's front door and demand 13M a season and start Yakupov'ing it up.
The timing to sign Toews is perfect . You can have him slot in Lowy's spot ,assuming he may be out of the lineup for a while. Even if it is a 1 or two year contract . He is from Winnipeg on a cup contending team .
It's been over 10 years since the same team that won the President's Trophy won the Stanley Cup so it's no big deal

Jets have cap to sign Ehlers samberg and Vilardi plus some left over. JT at 1.5 million fits and so could an actual 2C.

Duchene,Granlund,Gourde,Bennett,Tavares arnt comming here and trade partners have to waive no trade so guys like McCann,Kadri,Stamkos,Schenn,Horvat,Barzal,Orielly are unlikely maybe a rfa like Rossi,Peterka,McTavish make sense for team control or Schenn,Schwartz someone from prairies could want to come. Taxes,weather,team go into it

* a big thing is Connor he's 28 and 1yr left he's going to command 10.5m-11.5m will jets give him that. Ik he can say all right things but when a team offers money,taxes weather maybe Vegas,Cali,Florida will he choose leave if we have a down year like Marner?
Are the jets in a better place if we do move him and get similar Dubois trade 2 top 6 younger guys example what if we got McTavish+ a pick package and then used that pick and assets get another young rfa like Peterka/Rossi.
