Dallas Stars’ Roope Hintz Injured on Slash from Edmonton Oilers’ Darnell Nurse in Game 2

May 23, 2025: Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse had a major penalty downgraded to a minor after review for a slash that injured Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz.

  1. I love Skinner's reaction at the 14-second mark lol. You can tell he's saying "Stop rolling around ffs, this isn't soccer."
    1. Guaranteed Hintz plays tonight
    2. The refs have no reason to believe that Hintz was injured from anything they saw on that play, he was clearly slashed across the front of his shinpads, so it's surprising that he even felt it.
    3. Hintz just finished cross-checcking Nurse away from the play, he got a chop across the shins, boo-hoo.
    4. If Nurse was trying to injure him he never would have hit him on shinpads: they can easily block a 100mph slapshot.
    5. The spot where Hintz cross-checked Nurse is far more sensitive than the shinpad. People who think that a slash across the shinpads hurts more than a cross-check in that floating rib/kidney area have never played hockey.

  2. Why Stars are not using some youth beer league guys to come out and slash Mcdavid and Drai? Hintz is the Stars best forward. Stars deserve to return the favor. So we may talk about their embellishing and missing games + not playing same rest of the Playoffs.
