Matheson is going to block young guys coming up and he will always be a defensive liability. Hang on to him until the trade deadline then use him to get the piece we need to go deep in the off season. Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!
The fans that don’t want Matheson on the team are the fans and I use that term loosely don’t have a clue about hockey they just think they do
With all the supposed speculation at the draft….bet there's like up to 10 prospects linked to the Habs so whatever. Currently, Habs still need Matheson as he playing a ton of minutes, just a matter of the price. Without him, would put a lot more stress on Guhle and be a problem if gets injured again.
Hard pass on Matheson. Should not even be discussed. All these young defensemen need opportunity.
Mathy will stay and either Struble or Mailloux will be use for trade in a 2C .depending on Bogdan do at training camp top Russian RD turning 24 could very well make Mailloux trade bait and eventually Engstrom will push Struble out ☝️
Hutson and Guhle are long term our 1 and 2 LH D. Matheson has no room here. I like Matheson but I like Hutson and Guhle more. We don't want a Lefty on the right side no more. The pairings will be fixed and Matheson is the guy that needs to go to fix it. Its that simple. If we sign Matheson to an extension that means Guhle is not in their plans long term which is nuts. Or they are simply paying the French guy to make Mr. Molson Happy. If we have to sink anywhere near 7 million per year or more for Matheson that will be Hughes 1st real bad long term contract that handicaps us from doing other better things that we need to do.
Like to see Engstrom come up to the NHL. Matheson is good, is it a package to 10 oa with a couple of prospects…who knows
If he dont sing 6 ×6 the 2 of july put him in a pacage for the 2c
I can't understand all the hate for Matheson? He plays a lot of minutes against top lines….gets hammered with hits and still gets points. He has his brain farts on defence….like everyone…… but he is well liked and respected in the room.

Gotta trade salary to bring in salary. Matheson is unfortunately trade filler to improve the roster directly. Matheson with Newhook or Dach is 7.5 – 8.5 Million. A hockey trade to improve the top 6 is how to improve this roster.
No on Matheson we have to get Hutson back on the left and we have a lot of young D coming up on the left there’s simply just no room for him in the future.
This is one of the rare times I think Jesse is wrong. Most of the miss reads on the part of Matheson are due to being overused. You keep him at 20 and 21 minutes. He will be worth every penny and he was our best penalty killer and the only reason he had less points on the power-play is because Laney Hudson is just even better than him on the power plane.
Dudes! Why are you hyping up a guy that will never be available when Habs come to draft. Tomorrow will be Habs want to draft Frondell!
Not saying Martin isn’t good, but he 100% doesn’t fit our current needs. We need a 2C now, not in 2030

While he still carries great value, Matheson must be moved this year. In one year, his value will fall off a cliff!
matheson plays a lot of minutes which means someone has to take does if he is traded. I think for a cup seeking team coulf use a elite puck moving defence man , teams like vegas and maybe even Pedetors may be interested. Maybe Utah or Seatle would make such a move as well. He is the most valuable asset before the draft or after free agency.
Like your channel less and less everyday because you waste time on meaningless prospects who will never never play for the habs.
