side note on the breakdown, enthusiastic about the Oil's chances here to bring it home… Bouchard has those flash in the pan moments that can make the difference, and yet on the flip side he sometimes has those brain farts and coughs up the puck in the danger zones…these could be the psychology teaching moments that would be valuable for all the D man grinding it out

What a game! I appreciated @hockeypsychology's take on Skinner's puck playing at the end of the video. It was the big factor to his game that I have noticed since his return after the injury to Pickard. I honestly think he was watching Pickard play those games against LA and Vegas, and decided it was something he really need to step up and do. That puck playing, and even stick playing in general is such a valuable skill, especially in this year's playoffs. Pretty much every single team the Oilers have played in this playoff, at one point or another has gone for dump and chase or hard rims off the blue line. They do it because its super effective, and Florida are the best at that style of play. In game 1 of the Vegas series, Pickard frustrated them immensely with not only his ability to pick up the puck off the boards quickly and chip it out of danger, but he was also a deadly threat on his ability to move the puck up ice to his forwards. Skinner has been going to get those pucks, and its only a matter of time before we start seeing him moving that puck up ice like a boss. Bobrovsky deserves a shout out for that long lead pass he sent up the ice in Game 1, not to mention his ability to check pucks in tight with his stick, he's truly spectacular. Can't wait for game 2! Let's Go Oilers!

This series is so much like the 2022 finals, the battle of styles is identical. Like 2022 when Tampa just couldn't skate with Colorado, i think Edmonton is going to skate Florida ragged
Honestly, as an oilers fan, I can tell why Florida is in the cup. Tremendous forechecking. They are always attacking to prevent the oilers from setting up. They are excellent at poke checking when the oilers attempt to bring it across the blue line. It almost reminds me of Colorado when the oilers lost to them in the western final. I'm glad the oilers won but if, and hopefully they win the cup it will be well deserved as Florida is strong….plus even if they outplay Florida, they need to outplay Bobrovsky. He can steal games which he did last year. Honestly, I believe the oilers would have won if Florida never had him.
Never watched this channel but obviously you are an Oilers fan. For my more seasoned hockey folk wouldn't taking the body before the puck on the first goal be interference? Or is that just a good hockey play?

@hockeypsycology, your comment at 3:04 about Bennet and Sean Michaels, is that to reference Stoli and that play? And "Bennet is dirty" narritive? I wish you would do a breakdown on it then. His elbow never touched Stoli. That's what Stoli said at least. Also that's what the reverse angle proved. I wish you would clear that up for everyone. Almost every single time this man gets accused of a dirty play it turns out to be not true it looks like to me. I used to be a Benny hater, but now a defender bc I don't think true. From the Marchand hit last year, all the ones this year(I haven't gone deeper than that tbh but i will) he looks innocent imo. Check it out in the off season seriously w/o bias if you can. Check out player interviews and video and so on. He's definitely a good guy (Benny's buddies+ and more) I really wish you would w/o bias show us of it's true or not bc I'm very skeptical unlike most bc I can't find any real evidence to back up that's he's actually a dirty player and out there to injure other players.
