My condolences, Bill. I gave up on the Leafs way back in 1973 at the age of 12. Became a Flyers fan for two championships, and an Islanders fan for four championships. Living near Detroit, I became a Wings fan and watched them hoist four Stanley Cups. And the Leafs? Nothing! It must suck to be a fan.

Real speak…Shanahan/Dubas went the route of skilled young players….that seemed the way the league was heading…refs calling more penalties that used to limit such players (holding/sticks to hands/etc..) But, as we've seen the playoffs still allow old school hockey vs regular season…so said players aren't as effective….and when Dubas caved to Willie's holdout back in 2018 he then opened the door for such behaviour moving forward…Marner getting bank in 2019….Sometimes things don't work out…Dubas et al should've realized the Score Four weren't the perfect playoff mixture….Willie especially has been god awful defensively in his tenure…should've flipped him at that first hold out for picks…used that cap for True #1 D-man…I was saying should've gone after Pietrangelo back in 2020…I feel your pain Bill…Keep the Passion 👍
it strikes me as odd that i did not a word about the captain who was (injured or not) absolutely abysmal. dries up like a prune come playoff time. and this for the highest paid player in the league. lets assume that this player did what was expected and had 6 or 7 goals in these playoffs, would the leafs be golfing now. not sure who between tavaras and matthews is the slowest skater, but its close. until this guy attains his potential (at 13 mil/yr) when it counts most, the leafs are destined to find the same fate!
If it makes you feel any better i won back to back championships in floor hockey growing up lol one with the Hawks 🦅 my team and also with the Leafs. No need to applause 😏
