Slavin is a top tier player, but guys like Makar and Hughes take their offense to another level. It's not knock on Slavin…obviously he's top tier D1 player.

Personally I’d rather have my defenders play like Slavin… too many defensemen these days are literally just a fourth forward and that’s not a bad thing when you need a goal, but I don’t like guys like Karlson or even Bouchard although he has stepped up his game alot since the first round…
I still think that Erik Karlson winning the Norris on the worst team in the league was such a slap in the face of all the real defenders in the league…. if Burns hadn’t been moved he wouldn’t have been out for all powerplays, and because he got 100 points he wins the Norris???? I thought after that joke they should have another trophy for actual defencemen… they have one for everyone else… defensive forwards, offensive forwards,

hughes is soft as cookie all you gotta do is lean on him and he crumbles. NHL needs moer pronger like Dmen all these soft playrs is embarassing to the league.
