Islanders have to keep Dobson if they trade with Sharks. Cagnoni and 2nd pick for schaeffer is only deal I would do. Sharks can go all in on Marner that’s the case.
The only thing I’d give up to move up is both #1 picks acquired this year dal 30 edmo .25-32 there’s also rumors they will trade down to 6 and take Jackson Smith. I’m fine with that Smith is going to be a stud in the nhl
Just take the pick at 2 misa could go number 1
It makes zero sense for them to trade up they’re about to get a star center for their second year in a row we don’t need a franchise defenseman when we have Sam Dickinson and a bunch of other rookies that are gonna be coming up there’s no point to trade that would be the worst Mike rear trade we have ever seen this seasonat the end of the day I hope they pull in Mitch Marr or Sam Bennett or Nikolai Ehlers
No. 2 you still get a good player and keep the picks
this has been rumored since the lottery. way too much for one spot. if they dont take pick #30 and only that then pass. maybe a mid tier prospect.
Just don't give up the farm
Okay hear me out tho, what if he’s trying to trade for the 1, without giving up the 2?
Assets only have value if you have the resources to develop them.
even if the islanders are planning on taking misa they’re still going to say they’re taking schaeffer to get more assets from us.
With Sammy D looking good and on the left side it would make more sense for the Sharks to trade for Dobson! A right shot right side D makes more sense! Sharks 🦈 have plenty of cap space. Young right shot D are hard to come by. It doesn’t make to much sense for the Sharks 🦈 to trade up one spot for a left shot D that will likely take 1 to 2 years to develop. Sharks 🦈 clearly have the cap space and who have a now player no waiting in Dobson. The Islanders should take Schaefer and don’t second guess. I am sure The Islanders would entertain a trade for Dobson with the 2 pick as starters in a deal. If The Sharks 🦈 and Islanders were to deal for Dobson starting with the 2 nd pick The Islanders would take home town guy Hagens! It certainly will be a very interesting draft with potentially many trades this year. Should be Exciting to see what happens. I think Dobson with Sammy D would look great for the Sharks!
They cant lose anything if they just stay at 2. Makes zero sense to make any trade. Let New York stress about it.
The gap between Schaefer and Misa is not that large. It's important to remember that Chernyshov was rated as a mid-first rounder before getting injured. He is not just a shoe-in that you throw into a trade.
Don’t do anything. Stay at 2.
Stay at 2, draft Misa. He is your future 2C. Build your roster up the middle and also build your top 9 forwards. Look to sign 2-3 D-Men in free agency. I prefer to trade for JJ Peterka. I heard an NHL scout say there will better D-Men in the next two drafts better than Schaefer. Not sure how true, but get Misa if he is #2.
Gut feeling, Islanders take Misa at 1. Stay at 2, Mike
I'd prefer to stay at 2. I'm not a huge fan of the amount of games Schaefer missed. That affects development a lot. I get he's an early Sep birthday, so he's one of the youngest players which still allows him time do develop. If he's at 2, then that's great, but something about Michael Misa just makes my eyes light up. I wouldn't want to miss out on him. Could never have too many centers. At the same time, the momentum Dickinson has built up to this point can't be slowed down by drafting another LHD. There are PLENTY of RHD's that we could draft next year with our 1sts to fill the right side. Willing we don't suck that bad and are forced to get McKenna—though that would be amazing—Keaton Verhoeff and Ryan Lin have the potential to be great, maybe greater than Schaefer. Who knows, if we truly suck for 2 seasons—hope not, — Landon DuPont could be our franchise No. 1 D.
No trade up will happen.
The Sharks traded 3 players for Joe Thornton. It's a risk no matter what.
