The NHL media is usually pretty bad about breaking news and digging deep behind the scenes and reporting a scoop, but it's always situations like this where they should hold their tongues where they decide they're going to break the news. Terrible.

Really sucks to see this. I remember watching my Blues go up against his Sharks in the 2016 and 2019 WCF, and after 2019 I would have said he was a top 10 player in the entire league given how clutch he was in the playoffs. Crazy how a few years later he was gone from the game.
