It's not 'do or die', it's simply a win or lose situation, a position that teams who play for the coveted title find themselves facing in a championship game. Regardless who wins or loses, they will be back next year! Paycheck increases – probably, moving on to another team or retirement – yep, possible for some but 'do or die'… nah – these guys don't give up or quit just because a game is lost!
… win or lose, they'll be back!

Plus the weight of the relentless Canadian media and fans.
So he will be battling a 3 headed monster all series long.
It can be ' do or die' if Oil does not win SC. Because…..that can make it more difficult to sign oil nxt year for new 8 yr contract.
If he is not convinced that Oil can win SC some year soon.
Without Connor team would be a hollow SC contender in future. They would drop the play offs contender among other desperate teams.
