Honestly..I would keep Marner and trade Nylander if it were possible .. Marner is so versatile and can play PK and PP. I dare you to go watch Nylander without the puck lol it's actually horrible.
Funny that Anaheim and Utah (Arizona) get treated like worse teams then the leafs, but Anaheim has had way more success then the leafs have had. 2003-2025 Anaheim 2 Cup finals, 1 Stanley cup, Conference finals 3 times 2006,2015,2017. Even Arizon Utah making the conference finals in 2012 more success then the leafs. Keller, Marner, Gunther, Cooley, Schmaultz, Hayton, Crouse would be a nasty top 7 forwards, add Marchand or Bennett along side

I like Mitch Marner. He is a great player. His skill set is assists, setting up others to score and the PK. He was the LEADING point scorer in the regular season and playoffs. So those hating on the guy can CAN it

I live about 500 m from Scotiabank arena and I switched my affiliation from the Maple Leafs to the Oilers 2 years ago because I was sick of the BS with our core 4 who can never seem to get it done.

He is a 100 point player when he plays with Matthews, Nylander, Tavares. 27 goals 75 assists: 19 of those goals were first assists from Matthews (9), JT (5), Nylander (5) 46 of those assists were assists on goals scored by Matthews (20), JT (15), Nylander (11) Removing the 30+ million dollars of players he plays with and he is now a 37 point player. ASSUMING the very realistic possibility he isn't playing with another high paid player on a rebuild team and is actually forced to 'run a line' he is now a useless asset at the value he is requesting.
Let Marner go, I know you get nothing for him, but coincidentally that is what he’s contributed his entire playoff career. I don’t count 2nd assists on 5-1 goals.
I have no feeling on Mitch coming or going but I don’t he would feel at home in toronto for a long time if he signs somewhere for "less". It in his best interest to sign what is offered.. just to leave the door open to come back to Toronto in his personal life
Buffalo is next door to Toronto and Marner is a huge Buffalo bills fan, I’m not saying it’s gonna happen but I would see him sign there before Chicago where he needs a bullet proof vest or Utah with Mormans

Trade Matthews. That way the Leafs would get something for nothing…the nothing being Matthews' production in key playoff games
