The new Edmonton Oilers head office is looking like a dumpster fire right now, bleeding defencemen on a team that was thin on the blueline to begin with. Right now their moves look flinchy and badly thought out. Gage is 100% right about the damage they've done to the penalty kill. It's hard to blame two players being lowballed by the GM for wanting to get paid. Broberg wanted $1.8 million and they tried to squeeze him, so you're not getting blind loyalty after keeping him off the roster as much as possible last season when someone else backs up the Brinks truck to pay him.
How about Paul Coffey. He was doing alot for the D.
They have four solid nhl defence man. Ill take the chance on Emberson at under 1 mil compared to Broberg at just under 5 mil. About the same amount of NHL experience.
Goodbye! Move on…
The Oilers are going to have three players taking up about 40 million per year in two years. So they better get used to this because they are going to have trouble filling in depth for years. Honestly, for a team goal, they should of traded Drai. this summer for a kings ransom and had one superstar less but a better team.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Broberg asked for a trade at Christmas, how are supposed to sign him in January, never was going to happen.
