  1. Sacic saying no regrets regarding the Mikko trade, but any honest person (even if they were correct) should have some regrets considering what just happened. But I guess you can't say that on live TV

  2. They just fuckdup and nothing moore, even avs players admin that and realize but not these two cheesešŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜… šŸ‘

  3. People still pissed about the Mikko trade need to take a hike. Sure, it stung, especially now that he’s in Dallas, but it wasn’t a bad move.

I don’t care if the cap is going up in the near future. If you pay 3 guys upwards of $12M, you’re going to be very top heavy. That’s not even talking about Landy and Val’s contracts that will also eat away at our cap space. Not to mention, they’d all be 34-35 by the time the contracts are anywhere near finished. No organization wants to pay three 35 year-olds $12M or more.

The reason the Avs got so much better and more dangerous after the deadline was DEPTH. Management just needs to keep that philosophy and build a team that can achieve their goals.

And all the ā€œFire Bednarā€ talk is crap. It’s a miracle we’re as good as we were considering injuries and the amount of players we had to play. The 3 teams under us with the most amount of players used in season? Didn’t make the playoffs. Bednar is a good coach, and he’s far earned his stay here.

Everybody just needs to grow up, trust the process, and ffs support the team. As much as it sucks to go out this year, we go again next year.

  4. Mikko delivered a swift and devastating rebuke for trading him. The hockey gods delivered him to Dallas for payback and for years and year to come to boot. You tip your hat to the Stars and Ottinger but forget who single handedly ended your season LOL

  5. Duchene ends our season last year, Mikko this one. What stings more is that they did that on the Dallas Stars. The story of losing to them is getting a bit too old now.

  6. They literally don’t even care we lost. They don’t care about the fans at all anymore. We will not win another Stanley cup if we have McFarland making decisions. I hope Mackinnon leaves and cites Sakic as the reason

  7. I’m becoming more positive but wonder with next year being like this what will happen. Wasn’t just this year where this has happened, every year there are top of the list for finals and they blow it. Another year with better goalie and keep most or these guys. But one of these guys better go if they don’t get past second round next year

  8. The problem was the coach !
If Wedgewood would have been in the goal, then the avalanche would have won !
Wedgewood would had the edge, because he played in Dallas and because he is extremely good !

  9. 1:57 maybe just maybe Dallas’ PP was way better than yours because Rantanen was a huge part of yours and now he’s on Dallas’ PP

  10. One thing fans dont get is that as player cant take low payment since its a stab in back to other players with their contracts. You have to take your value amount.

  11. Wow, these two are strange!! They were completely out coached in the series. They got lucky when they were handed Mackinnon and Makar in the draft, teams rarely if ever get 2 superstars on a team, they have the most talented team in the league. Then to say that because they lost Ross Colton is one of the reasons they lost the series, Wow!!. The stars were without Heiskanen and Robertson., yet still won the series. They were completely out-coached. There are many coaches, that would win with this team.

If this was a one time unexpected exits from the play-offs, then coaching would get the benefit of the doubt but this is pretty much every year. Sure, they one it once but……

  12. And lol at talking to Mackinon about him telling the truth regarding the series. These two are delusional, how bout you actually look at the truth, oh yeah I forgot Ross Colton was out. Oh yeah, that's right we can't carry on without a 4th liner. The stars were just lucky. Our Power play was bad, it wasn't that Dallas penally killing was good, nah thaqt wasn't it. It was our power play and Ross Colton being out. Not much we can do, that's just the way it goes.

  13. Ross Colton was out, we did a great job of coaching just to be able to take this to game 7. Bednar, is the new Scott Bowman!! to able to get to game 7 without Ross Colton, is a testament to the tremendous coaching job of Bednar.

  14. Some of y’all are being extremely disrespectful to Joe Sakic. This dude has won y’all 3 cups. Show sum respect

  15. lolā€¦ā€the difference in the seriesā€ was the one that you traded away, you know, the one who took over the series! He scored a hat-trick for your team on the very first day of the regular season, and he ended your season with a hat-trick!

  16. Denial so confoundingly deep! They give credit to Oettinger and Dallas, their power play, etc., refusing to mention the name of the one who essentially took over the series!

Elephant in the room or what!

  17. I’m intrigued by all the hate against these guys. I thought they made fair points. It absolutely sucked losing Mikko, but objectively we couldn’t keep him, pay Makar, and have the necessary depth to win the cup. We lost a TON of depth after the cup run in ā€˜22 because all our depth guys retired, got picked up with the expansion, or got paid more than we could give in free agency. That’s hockey.
Avs didn’t execute. It easily could (and should) have been a sweep. Players didn’t show up and/or deliver in key moments, and it made the difference. I still believe this was a team that could have won it all, they just crapped out at the worst possible times to lose the series.
Angry fans also need to remember we didn’t trade Mikko to Dallas. It’s brutally unfortunate, but they aren’t responsible for that. Mikko and his agent have a role in this too. I think it’s easy to reduce it to ā€œThe Avs dumped Mikko and it’s their lossā€, but that’s far from reality. You make it to Winnipeg and that’s not even a conversation.

  18. What you did to Mikko was messed up. McFarland needs to go as well if you’re going to get ride of Mikko. McFarland is a joke… Ross was a big loss no Mikko was a big lost. What a joke. Have been a big Avalanche my whole life and never thought I would reconsider my faith in this organization. But I am now

  19. If we had fired Bennet long ago-maybe his replacement could figured out it might be good idea to have Nichuskin on PP1. And wed be in WPG right now,& nobodys talking about Mico. But better late than never-at least he(Bennet) is FINALLY history.

But problem is we will never be more deep or healthy,Dallas will probably never be missing 2 All stars again,& Utah,StL,& especially Minny will only get better. With top 3 prospect pool,& out of cap hell. AVS window isn't closed but it'll only get tougher,& the window never more open.

  20. The Moose šŸ«Ž with another Hatty. These guys are clown shows for letting Mikko walk. Another 10 years until you can draft a player like that.

  21. Mikko just scored ANOTHER hattrick in just one period and broke more NHL-records, also tied in one "unbreakable record" with Lemieux…. So thanks a lot!

  22. Tough decision, yet they made the wrong one. I don't know the history with Ray Bennett, so curious, is he the scape goat for managements blunder?

  23. People torching Sakic & Mac
    No coming back from this
    Biggest NHL trade mistake ever
    šŸ«ŽāļøšŸ«ŽāļøšŸ«ŽāļøšŸ«ŽāļøšŸ«ŽāļøšŸ«Žāļø

  24. I'm going to attempt to try and understand some of you fellow avs fans on here. Please please help me understand 2 things because I am in heavy disagreement.

    1. Why are you wanting macfarland gone? Do you remember when we used to bitch and moan about horrible goaltending from last year? Chris made a solid move and completely revamped our goaltending this year. Sure, blackwood is not quite bobrovsky caliber but he provided plenty of consistency for us to win on a nightly basis. Even in The playoffs. Chris was responsible for this and you guys want fired??

    2. Why is everyone all of a sudden wanting Mikko back? Just because he finally showed up at the worst possible time in this series? Guy was a ghost with us towards the end. It would NOT have mattered If he was still with us in this latest series. Why? Because we had ray Bennett. Our PP was even WORSE with Mikko. Don't you remember? Mikko was with us last year and guess what, we still lost to Dallas. So please, explain why I keep seeing these comments. Tell me how we would have beaten Dallas this season if we still had Mikko.

The way I see it is this, It doesn't matter if we had Mikko or not. We had a very expired system in place that other good teams started to figure out a couple years ago. I think the right call is made by cutting ties with Bennett. I'm still a little skeptical about bednar but we will see if the new assistant coach, whoever It might be, can rebuild and change our system with the caliber of players that we have. We should be scoring on pretty much every PP opportunity.

  25. MacFarland looked very uncomfortable.. At least Sakic looked at ease and was pretty talkative for a quiet person. Our pp was one of the reason we losted so the scapegoat is our pp coach so they get rid of him. What could have really helped there pp would be someone who could one time… maybe someone like Mikko😢.

  26. Voice of reason here. Listen I know everyone is pissed mad about the Rantanen situation and I was the first guy who hated that trade when it happened. But look here, the Avs could have easily won this series. The fact they LOST 2 OT games and still took this series to 7 games and had 2-0 lead in the 3rd means this Avs team is a Cup Contender still. It was just BAD LUCK to lose BOTH OT games. Had the Avs won just 1 of those OT games, this series would be completely different and the Avs probably win in 6 or 7.

It's just too hard to come back and win a series when you lose not 1 but 2 OT games in the same series. I said from the beginning just give Mikko 12m per x 8 done deal but no. So there's nothing we can do about it now. Let's just look forward and see that we still have great goaltending, great pieces in the return of Landeskog, additions of Necas, Drury, Nelson, Coyle, and Lindgren (Vesey too if you want to throw in) but who knows who comes back next year but this is still a great balanced team. We're lacking a top tier goal scorer OBVIOUSLY but we made up for it in a much more balanced team with great goaltending.

  27. Sad. This management duo really derailed a good thing. No back to back, early exits, it’s going to be interesting to see how this off season unfolds.
