It has been a long journey for him. A spectacular coach, articulate and honest man, and a great parent. Certainly deserving of the success he has earned.
I disagreed with him at first about the coaches shaking the players hands, but the more I listened to his logic, I’ve changed my mind, and I actually agree with him about it. It’s kind of absurd to have the coaches shaking hands with the players. They should shake hands with the coaches from the other team. Coach Maurice is right. As he said the players don’t even know half the coaching staff on the other team.
I have always liked him. The Panthers are literally what I dream about the Bruins being when I go. I’m now at the point where I’m outright rooting for the Panthers. I love their coach. Their players play exactly how you want your team to play. Most of my fellow Bs fans hate Tkatchuk and Bennett. They’re my two favorite players on the team other than Marchand, who of course is the biggest reason root for the Panthers. I had started rooting for them last year. I have kind of changed the way I engage in fandom. I’m always going to be Bruins first. However, I no longer feel any obligation to them or any other Boston sports team, other than the Celtics. The Celtics spend tons of money, and do everything they possibly can to win. You can’t say that about any other Boston team. Anyway, go Panthers. 😄 I feel similar to when I was rooting for Tom Brady on the Buccaneers. My random, Boston rant is over now. 😅
Now Paul has to focus on what opponent needs to be injured next to progress.
While it’s true the coaches in suits didn’t play the game, as a spectator I find it respectful to see the coaches and asst coaches pay respects to the players. Evidence of this is Pete DeBoer telling Mark Schiefele his Dad would’ve been proud of him. The line shouldn’t include track suit supporting team staff but the coaches and asst coaches should definitely join the line If they want to share parting words!
Met him 25 years ago at a clinic in Ontario. Amazingly attentive coach to the players and their parents. Not a shade of ego and got to know each kid on a personal level
I think it is respect for players as coaches and staff to go shake their hand. It is disrespectful to not…are coaches really above the player level status that they can't show a player a little respect?
I have a tremendous amount of respect for Paul. He is my favourite coach in the league, and I'm a fan of my Red Wings new coach Todd McLelland, big time as well as a few others including Jared Bednar, but hearing Paul talk is just magic.
Paul is such a great coach for so many reasons.
HERE WE GO…….
GOOD OLD WANNABE “SOCRATES”HAS STEPPED UP TO THE PODIUM.
👎
I could listen to Maurice talk hockey all day! GO CATS! PS. your daughter needs to make you a new t-shirt
❤️❤️❤️ let's go boys
I can't agree with that more. Even as a coach I felt weird shaking hands in the Good Game line after ALL the games. Usually walk over and talk with the other coaches, then you'd see one guy every season, usually with a big ole ring on, shake everyone's hand… I might say something to an individual kid that did something amazing or maybe he was a player that had our number all night.. those moves I thought were special for the kid not for the me so I'd just say "Hell of a job tonight" or something like that.
Sensei Paul>Sensei Chan>Sensei Miyagi>Sensei Ralph✌️
Why do I look forward to the after game interviews with coach? It's like my favorite part of the game 'almost'. I always feel smarter afterwards.
if anyone wants to see the OT Maurice referenced…. (it's incredible what Barkov did)… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rw0xDENsOao
Gotta love Paul mourice wish we had him here in Minnesota along with bill zito
Barkov is Ray Bourque as a forward. He’s powerful, has a very high hockey IQ, can either run over you or turn you inside out, hardly ever makes a mistake, and mentally as tough as they come. He wears down defensemen the same way Bourque wore down forwards.
Disappointed that no one asked him if he was going to go shot gun a beer
South Florida has two of the best coaches ever: Paul Maurice and Erik Spoelstra.
How pompous! He used to be so humble, 30+ years coaching and finally wins a cup and thinks he's God. So tired of listening to this guy ramble.. loves to hear himself talk. Maybe the Cup should only. be lifted by the player, eh Paul? and btw Cooper > Maurice
Bruins fan here.
Best coach in the NHL by leaps and bounds.
This team is a league above the rest.
Go Panthers.
