They’re the exact same team as every year. Why would they panic? Why would we panic? Everyone knew this would be the outcome. Florida is a real hockey team with real hardworking players and a real edge to their game. We threw plenty of hits. Still weren’t the more physical team and got bodied and out worked. Soft hockey.

I'm not panicking. The Panthers didn't particularly impress me last night. I think they actually were on the wrong side of a lot of the goonish behavior

Well said. I think a good mantra or keyword for the team going into game 2 would be "FOCUS." They're usually pretty good with that, but it seemed to be lacking last night.
The comments that Carolina sucks is bout a stupid comment Florida sucked for years until they finally won last year the Canes are trying to win a second cup it's not over that's why it is a series

It wasn't a terrible game, we looked good speed and physically. Our passing needs to tighten up and we need to make a couple defensive adjustments. Also Morrow did nothing. The penalty he took was bad but even outside that he was non factor. Rod should have played Nikishin. We still would have lost but he has MUCH MORE talent than Morrow and it would have given him another game.
You can’t lose games where the shots on goal are even or in your favor. You can say it isn’t Andersen’s fault, but if we swapped goal tenders, the results would have been different.
As a Florida fan, after listening to the Toronto fan/media brainrot, im glad to hear based conversation on Carolina side.
Canes played a good game, lot of good looks and opportunities, they looked extremely dangerous.
It's a 7 game series and Florida has been in beast mode.
I hope Canes keep their head cool and find enjoyment in their own game, even under the intense Panthers pressure.

As a Panthers fan who has had to deal with Toronto fans and media, it's refreshing to hear a reasonable and good take here
I thought canes had some key mistakes the cats took advantage of. Not expecting this to be an easy series. And seconded that this fan base 99x more rational than the Leafs’.
We have supreme confidence in our team but none of us expect to win in 5 or less.
In my opinion the keys to the next game are inspired from one comment.
1. FOCUS. We need to lock in and focus up because if we aren't focused on winning and playing our best we aren't winning.
2. If Chatfield isn't quite ready let's get Nikishin back out there. His play style is more needed, he is gonna start off using his physicality, defence, and leadership abilities before he focuses on any of those offensive abilities we know he has and used in the KHL. Extra defence, physicality, leadership and energy is much more needed right now than a two-way but offensive oriented undersized (currently) Scott Morrow.
This team has it, we just need to put it together against another top team. We saw it against Washington however we just need to bring that back to this series and improve on it to beat an offensive version of that physical team. We got this!
Just be glad you made ECF cuz your division is crap,& you got easiest conf final path i remember in 30 yrs of watching the NHL. Not your fault but cuz of the dumb NHL playoff format-we have defending champs playing like 9th or 10th best team..and yes im a bitter Colorado fan but i really think TB, Toronto,Avs,Vegas,WPG,& LA at least would all be in same spot if they had same path. Canes have a shot to prove us doubters wrong. But 13 straight ECF losses? 2009 was long ago but getting swept in 2019,& 23 kinda prove what I'm saying. And so far not looking good for you this time.

Respect the authenticity, and I'll say from a Panthers fan that they played Bolts and new look Leafs who were both excellent legit playoff contenders. Canes happened to get beat up Devils and fraudulent Caps. Tuesday was an adjustment to heavy skilled cup contender hockey, I expect Carolina will bring it Thursday. Though it wasn't Florida's A game either… fun hockey ahead

If the Panthers are fully healthy this is an uneven competition…Health is the only factor for the Canes to win
It honestly goes a bit deeper than the ECF curse, Canes have not won a series when behind since R1 2019 against Washington. Honestly as simple as game 1. Since that Washington series, if we win game 1, we are 9-1 in those series. If we lose game 1, we are 0-5 with this ECF tbd.
I get the argument that we're not fighting the past, it's not a doomer take. It's just a shot of reality that this core group of guys must learn to step it up when down, to adjust, to figure out a way to win when facing adversity. We're not going to take that step forward if we don't.
Keep in mind Florida has good road record, better than home, we need to take advantage and try and steal one back, no need to panic yet

I’m gonna be honest here. I hate to say it. But I’m chicken little.
The Canes have to work so hard to score. Florida can score from anywhere at any time. Up to this point the Canes have been the hungrier and more physical team, but not anymore. At the very BEST it’s even on that front (it’s not), and even if it were the Panthers have so much more scoring ability and an elite goaltender. The Canes are a really, really, good team. Unfortunately, as in years prior for the Canes, the playoffs always prove that really really good isn’t good enough. Unfortunately once again it looks like the team to prove that to them is the Panthers. What we saw in Game 1 is simply the difference between a playoff team and a true cup contender. They didn’t get beat, they got handled, on home ice. And while a thing or two may change here or there over the course of the series, I believe the overall quality level of the two teams isn’t going to change, and neither is the outcome. I hope they prove me wrong. But I feel like I’ve seen enough playoff hockey to know when one team has everything it needs to go all the way and one team just has a lot of things
