The future is bright for the Canes. What a rebuilding year
As a canes fan, i kinda wanted the series to end here. I really didnt see the canes coming back to win in 7 and would just be too painful if they got to game 7 just to lose then.
Those 2 aho goals in first period were so weak, I still didnt have incredible hope after them.
We often say "these teams don't like each other" but I have to say – that was NOT a particularly warm and friendly handshake line. Both teams seemed to be done with each other.
The Bad Guys going to the SCF again… the fans of every other teams will NOT like that lol.
I can honestly, and proudly, confess that not one moment of this series got on my television set.
Barkov has to be the GOAT.

Canes cheering for their team during the handshakes after getting Gentleman’s swept by the cup champs and going 1-16 in the conference finals.
Leafs booing thier team during the handshakes and throwing jerseys on the ice after taking the cup champs to 7 games.
Canes have arguably had just as tough of a recent history as the Leafs
The thugs and hired guns took the series. I hope EDM takes them on and takes them out in the final. If it is against DAL, I'll be a Stars fan for a week or so.
Canes fans are mature and loyal. Tons of respect to them for supporting their team in defeat.
That this was only the fifth game Carolina scored first is a snapshot of the problem with how they play.

Paul Maurice is right: the handshake line should be reserved for the players. The same goes for names on the Stanley Cup: players, coaches, GM, owner. If I'm not mistaken there are many more names on the cup than deserve to be. They Didn't Earn It.
Leafs were the better team compared to Carolina
No need to feel bad for the Canes. Go through all the fanbases one by one and how many besides the Panthers, Oilers, Senators, Canadiens, and Blues would say things went as good or better than expected? Rangers went from the Cup Finals to missing the playoffs. The Leafs, Wild, and Jets failed again. Great regular seasons for the Devils, Capitals, Avs, and Golden Knights didn't translate to the post-season. The Bruins and Predators dropped hard. The Pens, Red Wings, Sabres, Flyers, Flames, and Canucks didn't qualify yet again. Right now is a great time to be a Huge Cainac!

Slight correction, Aho’s second goal was below the blocker, not five hole. Disagree that it was a “bit of a lucky goal” but it’s all good.
Very entertaining game. I give the fans a lot of credit. They stuck around and cheered their team all the way until the end.
FL didn't show up for the first period, but then woke up part of the way through the second. Lucky for them Carolina didn't build a bigger lead.
So tired of the Taxes argument. IF that was such a factor, wouldn't Nashville or Seattle be better teams? Wouldn't all the FL teams be studs in the NFL? It's a weak argument made by people just trying to cope.
