1) Sperad that money over 2 or 3 good playoff performers
2) Club shows change is needed, players don't always win contract negotiation
3) More ice time for rest of team, develop and involve whole team
4) Hopefully changing this ridiculous core 4 will take some pressure off next playoff battle
5) Giving too many forwards top end contracts with "NO move" will destroy this team when highest paid players are the older players on the team.
FUN FACT As bad as game 5 and 7 were agaist Florida, The Leafs are 5th place this year with 7 WINS in the Playoffs.
Making a few changes and being harder to play against the Leafs could still win it all in the next 4 years. Let's HOPE.

All you whiny Leaf fans… come on now, the cup is well over half full. as a fan since the early 70s when it was almost impossible to be a fan because we were a Bottom dweller indefinitely, with very very little to cheer for… This is a wonderful problem to make the playoffs for the 9th straight Year and have our second series win in 3 years. This is probably the most exciting Team I can ever remember watching, partly due to my failing memory, but also because we have one of the best Goal scorers in league history, and one of the best starting goalies I think since Belfour.
I hope we're able to add a bit more depth in scoring and grit somehow. But this team is an exciting competitive team to watch, and although it hurts to lose that way… without Stoli's injury I think we take that series. Let's celebrate a fun successful season now.

"The End of the Most Embarrassing Era in Toronto Maple Leafs History." You guys clearly were not around during the Harold Ballad era, this current era is downright amazing compared to that. The leafs are at least a playoff team a few changes away from more, the Ballard era though they were a laughing stock joke of the league year after year after year. They are different. They had a bad game. After watching game 7 Florida was just better, faster, they had more will. Toronto is closer than they've been since the Sundin run. A couple tweaks and we got it
