Stars offseason will hinge on the ability to move that Dumba and probably Lyubushkin contracts. Dumba is horrible and Boosh has fallen out of favor with PDB and they count for about 7 mil in cap. I hope they let Duchene walk. Thanks for the regular season but yeah, just not a good playoff performer and I dont think Stars have time to wait for him to figure it out at his age. Bringing back Granlund would be my prio 1 from the UFAs. Not sure they want to move Marchment as we are already softer than a lot of teams and yeah he takes stupid penalties at times but he is also one of the few big physical players we have.

Petrovic proved he could be a full timer on that 3rd pair on the blue line. I'd definitely be trying to dump Dumba and Lybushkins contracts. Maybe pick up someone like Fabro, you get cap space and relief from some ptsd with that alone.
Why did you brush off Mikko like a part timer? More points in the playoffs than any other Star, and you're like " ehh … honorable mention" … weird
DeBoer is and has been the problem. Get rid of Marchment, Cici, and put Hintz on trading block. Great skater but always disappears come playoff time!!
Wow I just heard Hintz played with a broken foot. That is the sort of toughness I would like to see on the Canadiens.
If Hintz would waive his NMC and if Dallas would eat 2 million of his contract, then a couple of first round picks and Primeau would hopefully pry him from Dallas. Primeau could be the "goalie of the future" or the present if Oettinger demands a trade,
clearly the stars path to success has to start with the return of those beautiful modano era stars jerseys, just do it dallas, please, i beg you, i need one for the collection.

Yes the cap space is a serious issue; solutions are to trade Lybushkin, Dumba,, Marchment, and Seguin( retain salary and add a draft pick or two as a sweetener) He may thrive on a young team with a need for veteran experience. Also, hate to throw this into the works- the Stars may have to decide – Harley or Heiskanen. Having them both maybe a luxury with the possible potential of Bichell developing into a real monster of a player. Thank you Jim Nil you are awesome!!

That's all Dallas is lacking is a captain who leads and can play top level hockey.

Move Marchment and find a cheaper way to replace Duchene (since he tends to always drop off in the postseason) and sign Benn to a dirt cheap contract, although I’d be okay with Benn retiring at this point

Trade Robo, Dumba and Marchment for some picks. Resign Benn, Bourque, Lundquist, Blackwell and Granlund. Move up some AHLers. Wait for Segs contract to expire and the next cap raises. Then their window opens again. There is no Capspace for anything else this year. Otherwise Harley is gone and you have no picks But an overpaid Robertson.
I thought I read somewhere that Dadonov wants to finish up in the KHL. I think he wont be staying.
I guess having a bunch of depth comes with a price. Hopefully they find some cheap players that they can develop in the next year or so. Some has to keep ending Canadian teams seasons from the southern states and I don't think FL can do this again next season.
The Stars roster is filled with extremely streaky players that play questionable defense and have very little physicality. Jim Nill has done a great job consistently putting out a competitive roster, but there's a reason the Stars can't win a cup, and it's not the head coach.

Bourque and Lundquist would be good targets for offer sheets. Not even big ones! Offer 1.544 and Dallas would struggle to sign and you wouldn’t even have to give up a pick!

It is honestly funny how quickly the internet switches up their opinions. When Dallas knocked out CO, and Rantanen had a good 4 game stretch, I saw more “this is why you don’t trade your superstar” and “Rantanen’s revenge” posts and videos. And now neither team won the cup, Dallas is up against the cap, and now I see tons of people talking about how the future might not be as bright in Dallas for the next few years.
Did it suck that Mikko played a big role in knocking out the Avs? Yes. But they didn’t want to hamstring themselves the way Dallas just did, and sure they gave up a star for it, a guy who can be the difference between winning and losing a series, but everything has a pro and a con, a give and a take, and at the end up the day neither team won the cup, so was it really that stupid of a move?
Mikko was never a Mack merchant, I wasn’t that crowd at all, but he can lack consistency, almost like he just stops trying at times and becomes a defensive liability (I would know, I’ve been watching him for years). Dallas just got the full Mikko experience in 3 playoff series. Invisible to game breaker and back to invisible. It’s like it’s only one or the other with him 🤷🏼♂️
