all right Carolina, no sweeps yet in playoffs, no not sweet sixteen losses in conference finals

This game is proof that if you want to beat Florida you have to be absolutely perfect. Stankovens shot was perfect, and Andersen was perfect. You don’t win if you’re not perfect against Florida.
I guess it was time the Hurricanes got an ECF win! They are good enough to win the first two series after all! Panthers looked out of sorts tonight but the Hurricanes were mostly responsible for that! Hats off to Carolina for the win but I don’t see the series going past Wednesday!

The cat's senses become hypersensitive and many times more dangerous than before and can only think about satisfying it's hunger and sense of being a dominant hunter.
The Canes escaped by the skin of their teeth so the next game expect the Cats to come out viciously and terminate the Canes the way they did to Toronto
The cats will pile it on from the very start making sure they break the back of their prey early so it can't get away.

We see the Dominice the Florida teams have because of the favorable tax situation they have over others teams and the NHL should consider some form of formula determining the cap to make it even across the board.
It can be done by developing a simple formula making it attractive for players to want to play in every city in the league.
Montreal should not be penalized because of the taxes their governments levy on the players salaries or the exchange of the dollar because the people of that province have public healthcare, better social programs for their populations
The league brings in about a forecasted 7 billion US dollars a season and can afford to make real parity its goal.
Toronto fans have been more than a patient lot for 58 years, and Canadian teams for 32 years, there will be a day where the fan will recognize the fact their team are not on a level playing field and they will move to another sport
Going down 3-0 may have been the best thing to happen to this Carolina team, they have nothing to lose now. Be nice to see them get another one at home even if it means losing to Florida on the road in game 6
Just don't do what the leafs did and completely collapse next game, if they can show up and play next game I think it's fair to let the canes keep their dignity lol.
As a Canes fan that went to game 3, Nikishin speaks 0 English. It didn't come across on TV, but there was pointing. He didn't listen to the ref. A Panther was talking smack at a puck drop and he didnt react. It is so obvious my neighbor asked me what was wrong with him. Orlov has to play offside (he isn't great at it) because they can communicate. They stuck PK in net to try to help. They had him play last game in Washington, and it was only meh. I think he has improved by playing, but you had to go through the game Sat with Orlov playing on his off hand, communicating in Eng and Russian, and being a step behind.
The Canes need to win Game 5 as an apology to their fans for Games 1 and 2
Anderson played amazing and shut down the FLA offensive attack but unfortunately there no EDM Oilers so the damage was done falling behind 3-1 in the series!
Finally looking a little more like Carolina Hockey, took alot of dumb penalties but PK was great again. Slavin was playing amazing, and why didn't Nikishin play from the beginning of the series??
I'm rooting for whichever team will be easiest for Dallas to beat. Go Stars! 🤞🏼

As a Sabres fan, it will be nice to no longer hear folks talk about how Carolina hadn't won a CF game since their Game 7 OT win over Buffalo in 2006 😭
Having three starters out was evident the entire game. Onto Game 5.
If the refs called penalties by the book, the cats would be short handed nearly the entire game. It was laughable the Panthers got so many power plays😂. It was great to see the canes play a good game, but i feel the canes lost their mojo after the disallowed goal. They can't afford any letdown in game 5. To be frank, i don't expect the canes to be able to bring the same level of desperation and focus to win again, but at least they answered the bell after the disaster of games 2 and 3rd period of game 3.
As a Canes fan. I am really excited about Stank and Nich. We are loaded on good young players!

Genuinely think if it weren’t for Slavin the Panthers probably win 3-1 or 4-1. He made some huge plays defensively
Assuning the final isn't a sweep this means there are zero sweeps in this year's playoffs. Has that ever happened in a 16 team playoff format before?
One insight (outside of “the Hurricanes can’t win and ECF game”) that I don’t hear mentioned at all is how unusual it is for the Hurricanes to be in the ECF at all this year. They lost almost 1/3 the team in the last year: Pesce, Skjei, Necas, Drury, Teravaiven, Noesen, Fast, and some other bench players. Is that normal for a team with that much turnover to go deeper in the playoffs than the previous year? That sounds like a retool year, at least. So if/when the Hurricanes get knocked out, it’s worth a mention that they over preformed expectations.
Knew they were going to struggle. No Reinhart on the PP. Makela is the grand condor on the rush and Greer was out. Maurice said the Canes out hustled them causing their gaps to be better. Panthers have the habit of breaking hearts on their home ice.
Do we have a series now? No. Maurice probable let up on the Panthers for game 4 but will crack the whip next game. I see another 4 or 5 goal win for Florida in game 5.
Hope you get to wear that Canes jersey at least one more time.

I’m not a fan of either team, I don’t like canes bc they knocked my devils out, and I don’t like Florida bc they knocked rangers out from a historic run last season. Either way I’m loving how this series is going, I love watching blowouts, but I don’t want to see a sweep, I want to watch good hockey and that comes from games actually mattering. Would like to see canes win again so I’ll still have more hockey to look forward to watching

This was a boring game, I’m glad canes stayed alive bc there’s only 2 series left and I love watching playoff hockey. But this one not much happened. I don’t root for either team I’m rooting for oilers but I hope canes extend this series to game 6

While overall rooting for the Panthers, I really hoped the Canes would win a game to break that ridiculous streak. The fact that Stankoven scored the goal (you know what I mean by that) just made it better.
An embellishment call on Tkachuk was a disgrace . Especially when the other player is called for a penalty

Niki absolutely should have been in the lineup earlier. Rod wants everyone to earn it and I understand that but sometimes you have to not be conservative and give a guy a chance. Nikishin is clearly super talented and is going to be an excellent NHLer
This game looked like it followed Bettman's script. No money in a sweep! if this goes more than 1 more then the fix is definitely in!
The Panthers blew a 3 games lead in last year's final, anything is possible
Canes did what they needed to do to get a win. They fought for it. The canceled penalties, I was thinking, ok, I get it. A sweep in the ECF's is going to make the playoffs look bad so they have to do this. Canes playing big minutes to take a 1 goal lead into the third. Not sure if this can happen again for them. FL on the other hand blows another chance to close a series out at home. Starting to become a major pattern now. Now just finish the series before more players get injured,
Werent florida resting 3 players or something? Thats pretty crazy that they know one game doesnt matter because they are so far ahead of this team. I dont know if i have seen that before this late in the playoffs.

It would take a huge collapse by the Panthers. Very unlikely given how good they are.
