What is this "all the holes in the roster" business? I thought this team had the best defence and goalie in this generation. They also had the best regular season ever.
Toronto needs to learn that spending to a maximum cap space does not reflect success in the playoffs. Treliving needs to be wise how and where he spends the money. Tavares was given 11 MIll. for 7 years and now that the contract is done, both parties have an option to renew or part ways.

My personal opinion is that Teams have to stop giving every player No trade Claus it Ties their hands to make the Team better
NHL establishes a price per goal, always have when it comes to UFA signings and now it is 200,000 per goal. So Tavares is worth at least 7,000,000 per and will likely get it from Anahiem and it is possible Marner could end up there as well. Anaheim will sign Tom Wilson as well. So Leafs fans and morons like these guys will have driven out over 170 scoring points out of town and then the team they end up with finishes way ahead of Toronto in the standings. Tell me all the 2nd line centres that were better than Tavares this past year. Matthews will demand a trade out of Toronto once those two are gone and are losing and he cannot score at anywhere the rate he has with Marner.
When players get PAID before winning, they never know how to get to the mountaintop because they don't have urgency in their game.
Taveres is not signing 4 or 5 million look what stamkos got from Nashville @ 8 million per year hes going to get that once he hits the market and marner will get 11+ per year also
Toronto media is Fckd, this team has been in a division where the Stanley Cup teams come from, if Edmonton where in this division they would have fared worse.
