  1. Still hoping somehow Dallas could dig themselves out of this hole, hate to see Edmonton going to finals again, their fans are so horrible, most toxic in hockey community.

  2. While I have noticed in the past that Shannon and I tend to see the game a similar way, we really are in sync on this match. The second period for the stars was impressive from certain points, and Stu really played a fantastic game, particularly in that period as well. However, while I was watching it, I had a bit of low key nerves, especially once they managed to get the puck in the net against Skinner, but for the most part I wasn't panicking. Neither were the Oilers, they really battled and kept everything to the outside, Dallas struggled that whole period to find opportunities in the slot. Anything that did get through, Skinner and the Oilers managed to clear or cover any rebounds that could have been dangerous. McDavid's goal at the end of the second was where I also identified the momentum shift, and it definitely played out that way into the 3rd period. Dallas didn't play terrible in the 3rd, but they were clearly worn out, and the Oilers weren't going to allow Stu to continue to get shelled for another 20 minutes. I know that technically his first goal was the GWG, but I personally think it was the goal at the end of the 2nd that finished it for the Oilers.

Going forward, I think it would be foolish to count the Stars out. They still have lots of danger in their game, and if the Oilers falter with their laser focus they seem to have had from the start of this series, I could see them steal a game on Tuesday. The best game I have seen a goalie put up against the Oilers in these playoffs was Hill in Game 5, and frankly, Oettinger needs to play that way the rest of the way out, because even if Dallas can get their Offense going against the Oilers in the next game and on, he needs to let in less than they score, and he's let in 3+ every game. The worst part is I don't even think he's playing bad, Oilers offense is just that deadly.

  3. Rantanen didn't show up? Yeah, get used to that Dallas. From a fan that keyed on him for 4 years, he doesn't show up more than he does. He's great when he does, but that is maybe 30% of the time. The guy is waaaaayyyy overrated.

  4. Dallas will need to revamp their middle 6 on offense if they’re going to get past the WCF.

  5. Dallas has been the worse team in each series so far. They just keep finding ways to win. Excited to see how they win this series

  6. Oilers have been the better team for 7 of 9 periods in this series and one of the 2 you could say Stars were the better team the score was 1-1 in that period. This has been total domination by the Oilers and it irks me as Stars fan to see some of our fans whining about the refs when the team can't score and are giving up way too many odd man rushes leading to Oilers goals.

  7. I saw somewhere ratings were down 25% for the playoffs and without any traditional American markets I can believe it.

  8. It feels like the NHL hasn’t had much parity in recent years. Not necessarily a bad thing as the hockey is still objectively good (outside of these two series i guess) but I’d be kinda disappointed to see the same teams in the final again

  9. 81 or 06 lmfao tell me you understand playoff hockey without telling me you understand playoff hockey

  10. shannon calling this series "one-sided" is how you know it's bad. he doesn't exaggerate as much as most fans do. pretty scary time to be a stars fan
