The Honda Center in Anaheim is getting a billion-dollar facelift.
OC Sports & Entertainment, the affiliate responsible for operating the city-owned arena, announced Tuesday the launch of Honda Center Encore, a $1 billion privately funded transformation aimed at reimagining nearly every aspect of the venue.
The Samueli Family, longtime owners of the Anaheim Ducks, will spearhead the project.

The renovations launched last fall and are planned to run through the end of 2027. The Honda Center will remain open throughout the renovation process.
Key features of the transformation include:
A new five-story South Entrance with a grand arrival experience and future plans for a high-impact digital display to host outdoor viewing parties and special community moments.
New escalators to improve vertical circulation and enhance guest flow throughout the arena.
A complete refresh of all food and beverage spaces, including ten brand-new concepts and the introduction of innovative self-service technology to elevate speed and convenience for guests throughout the arena.
A new all-inclusive club on the club-level, offering an upscale, hospitality-focused experience for premium guests, with curated food and beverage offerings and unmatched views of the action.
The debut of new opera box suites on the main concourse and a full renovation of all 68 existing luxury suites to deliver an elevated, modernized premium experience.
Three new parking garages totaling over 6,000 stalls.
Four new entry plazas, each with a distinct social aesthetic.
Parking will increase by nearly 60% with the project, including two new general parking garages set to open in October 2025. These will implement an all-inclusive parking model — a first for a U.S. arena — eliminating the need for passes and offering a streamlined entry process.

“… But every time I’ve been to this building, I feel like I’m in a Time Machine back to the early 90’s.”
You and me both, Mr. Brazil. Glad Honda Center is getting this upgrade.
$1 billion still wont fix the steep assness in quack center. Or the fact cheap ass quacks don't want to win. Should just wait for sd to get their new arena and move down there.
I still call it the Pond. Most OC natives about 40 and older will know it as the Pond
WATER ?!
I get why the changed the name to the LA angels. Problem is, they’re not even in the same county!!! So now what, can the Padres change their name to the New York Padres of San Diego?🤷🏻♂️
Good to see them getting this investment. I remember this team being created by Disney after the success of their hockey movie Mighty Ducks in the early 90s.
The exterior definitely needs a new paint job but the Conchords are nice are Marble and granite
You know what I like about your channel? You get right to the point. So very appreciated.
As a fan of both teams, it makes me smile to see the ducks are renovating and with their young, fast team, the future is looking bright for the ducks. It seems the angels heading the opposite direction 🙁
When is the Tank gonna get a remodel?
The Honda Center was built in 1991-1992 at a cost of $123 million, which is roughly $296 million in today’s dollars.
Time machine going back to the 90s. Funny, that's how I've long described the Big A
"Honda center looked stuck in 90's" ok now talk about SAP center 😂😂😂
Lame video. They're not doing this out of the goodness in their heart. They're going to charge $50-100 for each parking spot, tickets and concessions will be jacked up 300-500% and the cost across OC Vibe will be even more expensive than a trip to Disneyland. Gimme a break, this is going to be wallet-busting money grab for the Samuelis and everyone involved.
Wont take much to make the Angels look bad. Moreno is running that team like a waffle house in a LA hood.
My question is why has Anaheim never been urbanized? It doesn’t have a true downtown skyline.
I haven’t been inside it yet but from what I did see the building has always looked good to me. But it’s nice to hear the owners are willing to put money into it too.
the mixed use area out side the arenas renovation looks pretty cool.
Angels make Angels look bad. Owner Arte Moreno is the least like person in Anaheim. Many fans no longer think he is honerable…never has been honorable, and want him out of Anaheim.
Ducks owner is spending $1 billion on upgrades, meanwhile the owner here in Vancouver can't give us a practice facility
I still call it the pond. I will always call it the pond
$1 Billion renovation? how much would a new venue cost. However privately financed I'm for this idea.
The Angels are too late now. In addition to new arena/OC area, Don’t forget having garden walk entertainment/shopping and downtown Disney down the block plus the new Disney shopping area in the current Toy Story lot. That’s a lot of entertainment/shopping/dining in a small area.
It’s crazy that Arte Moreno is a worse owner than John Fisher. Substantially worse you could argue
Angel stadium is an absolute DUMP! The team is awful. Artie is not popular. Would rather have him sell the team.
Oh yea the ARTIC my dad thought it was the Ducks new arena LOL
It doesn't take much to make the Angels look bad
The Ducks are indeed "Mighty" spending 1B….assist to Bruce McNall
These renderings are so unrealistic….there isn't a drop of water in that "river"
The CGI water in the Santa Ana river is peak Anaheim.
AAA Teams make the Angels look bad.

1 Billion? I smell money laundering unless they tear down the whole place and rebuild. It's not a football stadium
Just fyi The SAP Center's lastest upgrades, specifically for security improvements, were funded by the City of San Jose through a $1 million allocation from its general fund. $515,000 was allocated to Sharks Ice, and $485,000 went towards SAP Center. Tax payer money this is funded. What is happening in Anaheim is huge because the owner is paying 100 of a city owned building, when most professional sports owners are asking for tax payer money.
It’s about damn time the ducks upgrade the duck games. The ducks need to go back to the original colors. Orange s ugly.
Moreno is a idiot. The Angels suck. The Angels are NOT Los Angeles!!!!!!!!! I went to a angels game on Saturday and their was a bunch of NO NAME players on the Angels team.
The Angels don’t need all that parking. The stadium was basically empty on a Saturday night.
This will always be the POND of Anaheim
Have you seen that parking structure abomination right off the freeway?! Good fking luck getting out of that place after a game. No thanks!
Honda Center is actually one of our favorite Arenas that we've visited. Out of 14 away arenas we've been to, the Duck Pond has stayed in our top 5 of ones we liked.
Anyone remember the old Sports Town idea for the Angels parking lot?
the Honda Center stil looks good though. Changing the seat colors did wonders. The exterior looks very timeless.
Needs a $1 Billion upgrade because of ….."vibes".
SAP Center is a dump compared to HC….I have been to both!
They should have invested some of that money on a designer for a new fresh logo. Something along the lines of robo-penguin.
Parking there now is bad
The new parking garage at Honda Center is pretty unappealing. Before, as you drove by on the 57 freeway, you'd have a nice view of the Honda Center. Now, with the parking garage abutting the freeway, the garage is all you see. But I guess parking is more important than aesthetics.
I'm a fan of both teams and the difference between both owners is NIGHT AND DAY. The Samuelis want a winning team AND want to create a good fan experience. Arte Moreno on the other hand wants to milk as much money out of the Angels while spending the least amount of money possible. It's frustrating to see one owner care while the other doesn't, and until ownership changes across the freeway, nothing will change for the Angels or the land they play on.
The only time I go to the Pond is when the Lakers play a pre-season game or there is a boxing event. Not a hockey fan. Nothing but great experiences at the arena. It would be nice to have more bars and restaurants to choose from in the area before the game than just JT Schmid’s.
A billion dollars could build them a brand new arena. Seems like a waste of money..
