Never a good reason for a crosscheck in the face. McDavid has done several cheep hits over the years. One being a stick in the face to Hughes, which wasn't called
Myers actually attempts to injure with no prior provocation and he gets the same as McDavid? Unbelievable – no different than two years ago when Pieterangelo literally tried to break Draisaitl's arm and got the same suspension as Darnell Nurse for instigation when it was Hague who dropped his gloves first after a Nurse hit – typical NHL

If the Refs did their job, Garland would have got a delayed penalty for Holding/Interference, Oilers would have continued to hold onto the puck and they would have still lost AND McD would still have cross checked someone in the face. I do not get the justification that just because he is the most talented player in the league he should be able to do whatever he wants. He just got away with a freebee the other day. I suppose now if a 4th line shmuck gets tripped or held he has free reign to do whatever they want.
Everything the dude in Coyotes hat said is true. That elbow is irrelevant. Wes Macauley is the issue here.
Bottom Line … McDavid and Myers screwed up .. plain and simple .. Don't blame it on the Refs , the moon , time of day ,, ,,, or Garland … they messed up .. Live with it and carry on ..McDavid is not the only player to get mugged in the past 100 years of hockey .. When playoffs begin there will be events like this in every game .. Edmonton and McDavid fans take a chill pill , Life is harder then a 3 game suspension .. 🤓😎

Mcdavid has drawn less penalties per 60 mins since 21-22 when he drew 1.5 per 60. He is at .89 this year. The Nhl says it wants its stars to shine, yet their words and actions dont line up. In their ineptitude they punish players for taking things into their own hands. Im not arguing that this wasnt suspendable, but this is a problem that wasnt created by Mcdavid, and they need to look hard in the mirror and take some responsibility.
Sorta like Wysh said, the cross check should’ve been 2. Personally, I had a bigger issue with the chicken wing. That should’ve also been 2-3
Three(3) was due to the blind-side head shot by McBaby.
Go back 20 seconds from the leglock and he actually instigated on Garland for a while at the blueline.
…then they couldn’t give Myers fewer than that, so he got the same even though his was a typical frontal shot.
It's time for a rule change. When there is a penalty under a certain amount of time, it should be a penalty shot, and if the refs miss it, it should be reviewed.
