The Florida Panthers are headed to the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals after rallying to clinch the series over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5. Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio are joined by N&O columnist Luke DeCock and play-by-play voice Mike Maniscalco inside Lenovo Center to discuss all the key moments from what turned out to be closing time for the Canes. While Rod Brind’Amour’s initial group wasn’t expected to do much other than make the playoffs, the final version of the team found themselves with another opportunity for a Cup run. The end of the season will bring about some serious soul searching on what to do next in Raleigh.

Canes lost series game 3. They won a game. Florida kept the Toronto series rolling and were on fire. GM messed up the Rantanen trade, but wouldn't have helped.
Does this team seriously not have a Dr. Sharon on staff?
The series was really over the moment the canes no-showed what we all basically said was a must win game 2. They showed some resiliency but playing the champs you can't no-show to go down two games. Met expectations this year for sure though
? Dean Smith has absolutely nothing to do with the Carolina Hurricanes. Weird comment
When Rod does the same thing next year, will you say the same things again…
It’s peanut butter jelly time! 😂😂😂
They'll never win with Brind'Amour in charge. Why continue to do the same thing over and over again, and fail over and over again.
I think KK is gonna be gone this offseason after how this season has gone for him
Apex and Cary were both voted in the top 10 places in the country to live (Cary #5, Apex #7)
I miss living in Apex

Great series from the canes. My respect goes out to them.
What hurts is now we can only focus on Jordon
1:10:50 Ian can go pound sand. These shows are awesome
Most times in a seven game series the better team always wins. It’s not coaching it’s not a lack of heart or determination it’s not game planning. It’s just the best team being better. Don’t second guess anything the Hurricanes (players/coaches)did or didn’t do. Lesser teams can outplay or outcoach a better team in regular season play. A series though is the ultimate view of who is better. The fans that stayed to applaud the organization after the game get it. Can we get better, sure. Is it guaranteed, no it’s not. So appreciate what the boys did to get here, appreciate the fact we have the best or one of the best coach in the nhl. For the naysayers are you the best at your profession and always earn the Stanley cup at your job? Do you always say the right thing after defeats or victories? Are you a role model without flaws? These guys live and breathe the effort for each other and injuries that keep most people on workers comp would never think about working the guys show up. The Hurricanes are led well. The Hurricanes bleed for each other because they are a team. Not all teams are teams. If you played sports or are a part of a bigger system in your career it is evident. Thank you Canes for a great year!
Give Florida credit. They were the better team. No shame in losing to such an exceptional team.
Yall seem real happoy after getting beat 3 times by the Panthers
