I dont want to resign Lindgren. Wasn’t impressed . Don’t have a replacement idea yet. But not him, to much for fair play at best
We need to get bigger on defense for the playoffs. So Sam needs to go. We have Sam that can replace him.
Call me crazy but I wouldn't mind reacquiring Bo Byram in place of Girard and to get a bigger physical defensive defenseman to play along side him in the second pair. Bo has put on some weight so he's a much bigger guy than Sammie but still gives you a lot of that puck moving excellence. He also has been a bust in Buffalo so the price shouldn't be too bad (actually sammie would be a pretty good fit for their 2nd pairing with samuelsson). Bo is 24 and still an RFA with a 4.6 QO. Anything close to that with any kind of cap would be good for me. We might be able to pick up a third line forward in a change of scenery swap as well. I can see it.
I also don't think it will be THAT hard to dump wood. His AAV isn't that terrible considering the exploding cap and there are some very bad rebuilding teams that would value him for nothing other than his work ethic and could be talked in to taking a flier on him rebounding to at least his productivity level he had in Jersey.
Look at what the oilers have been doing in playoffs. Tough defense and their big boys are producing
