  1. Andersson is intriguing and seems like a good fit for now, possibly longer term, depending on Laval prospects in the rest of the playoffs and over the next year.

  2. Look. If they are two years away. Not one. For true push. Then trade Matheson and embrace the challenge of covering his minutes. Guhle is ready for more. If Matheson brings in a second line centre in a trade who’s younger. Then go for it. Keep the picks. Use the picks. Simply trade Matheson straight up for a second one centre. He has that type of value. Top pairing D. Some teams need just that.

  3. Newhook will be centre. Dach on wing. And I bet one is traded actually. Too much talk about Mesar . Deserves zero talk time guys. Come on. Farrell will be a career NHLer. Stop on him already. 🙂 enough. Today was a bad day. Spread the dumb talk around. Not the whole thing. Messi. Farrell. Get air time on the same day?

  4. There's a problem possibly bringing in a high end right handed defenseman is could effect the Habs future cap (or could be throwing away prospects to such a trade….likely forfeiting Mailloux in the process…no go as need 2C more). If not needing a high end offense….would suggest signing Cody Ceci (size and RH) and it likely won't cost too much per season for cap hit.

  5. You guys are way off the mark with Farrell lol. He’s not even a prospect at this point.

He’s a career AHLer in all likelihood. Very little trade value

  6. It's all about decision making and this is what differentiates Farrel from Mesar. Mesar hasn't yet cracked the code as Farrel did. But Mesar's speed and skills are outstanding. Mesar had a great season start if you recall and was praised by the coach, but sadly his stride was cut by a major injury. I would give Mesar time in the hope that he can unlock his true potential. Other players who need time are Mailloux and Roy. They both show flashes of greatness but need to add consistency to their game and this will come this year. Owen Beck already has the consistency but lacks the point production. He needs to seriously work on his shot and point production if he wants to reach the NHL. Reinbacker has everything but not in enough quantity to reach the NHL just yet. Another year will be necessary. I think that players such as Adam Engstrom, Emil Heineman and Oliver Kapanen are closer to joining the big team. It is going to be an interesting camp as many players will be battling for the few available chairs in Montreal.

  7. Arbor is going to be traded, the guy is not trusted by MSL and it will open things up for Mailloux and Reinbacher down the road.

  8. WHAT about PAVEL ZACHA for a [[2C]] with 2 years remaining on his contract he would fit pretty good for little over 4 million at 6'3 pretty good on the DOT he is a first round [6th] overall pick in 2015 is around 50 points in 82 games he is solid doesn't get hurt not my first choice but again 2 years is perfect just before our youngster come up.

  9. So you’re thinking of bringing in Rasmus but keeping Matheson?

    Make that make sense.

Even with no RD brought in Matheson needs to go

    Rather see

    Ghule – Carrier
    Hutson – Strubble
    Xhekaj – Mailoux / Reinbacher
    Engstrom
    Trudeau

Rather see all these guys over Matheson.

Rather have rookies making rookie mistakes than a veteran coughing up the puck and serving pizzas.

Matheson is the Softest D to play against on this roster Hutson & Carrier both smaller both play heavier than fancy Mike
