  1. Made contact in the crease before the shot arrived. Def not a good goal and he wasn't pushed in either, just sold it well by not even trying to stand his ground until he collided with the goaltender. The Devils defensman making that x-checking gesture is why it wasn't called. So many 3rd/4th line goons keep doing this to their own goaltender, It's mind boggling. The league needs to figure this out already, its been an issue EVERY year since the early 2010s and nothings been done to address it. Change the rule, ice markings, something that makes it cut/dry and not controversial judgement call. Thankfully it won't matter since NJ is the worst team in the playoffs but I hope this doesn't screw a team this spring with a real chance to win a cup.
