Ekblad elbowing on Blake plus repeat offender – Tough Call Recommendation

Aaron Ekblad targeted the head of a vulnerable opponent after the whistle by using his elbow/forearm. He’s also a repeat offender of this exact same act. This can’t go ignored.

  1. Considering it’s the playoffs I’d go with six games. That would knock him out of the series completely with eligibility to be back for the cup of the panthers were to win the series without him.

  2. People around the league all know the panthers team is a dirty team except their fans. After Leafs, now Canes are feeling it, too. Zero respect for team like this. Cheater Ekblad failed drug test now failed to come out clean during this play.

  3. Playoff suspensions should be a game then a round then done till next year. Make them worth something. Who wouldn't pay 20000$ in fines to keep playing for a Stanley Cup?

  4. These hits are perfectly legal until DoPS decides that they aren't.

Ekblad won't even get a fine for this.

DoPS needs to do their damn jobs.

  5. Ekblad thought it was Svenchnikov skating through the crease and hip checking Bob again … justified … or honest mistake

  6. I mean this couldve been ugly. If Blake is knocked unconcious, this would be a heavy 10+ game suspension no?

  7. NHL will let anything Florida does go without penalizing them significantly. Dirty team, dirty ownership, but Bettman loves it because they make money. Disgusting. If Florida goes on to win the Cup, I’m walking away from NHL viewership completely.

  8. There is a reason fans of other NHL teams think Florida is team rat & that's because they are. Roughly half the team will execute hits in the post-season that you simply wouldn't get away with in a regular season game. The likelihood of those hits being called in the post-season are much lower & they know it, so that's how they play. Interesting that vs Toronto in game 7, they didn't play like that at all because they knew the risk of taking needless penalties, so they were behaved. One penalty for too many men to Toronto. That was it, so Florida can play clean when they want.

  9. This is how the league wants it in the playoffs. It’s been going on for years. Skill players get destroyed and the series is decided by brutality. It’s why the NHL is a third rate sport.

  10. Starts with a slash and then follows it up with a forearm shiver to the back of a player's head. No suspension. This league is a joke.

  11. i hate hate hate the leafs. always have, always will. the reffing they faced in the florida series was absolutely deplorable. shameful. and now it continues

  12. Glad you’re not in fucking charge, buddy. This wasn’t even that bad and most the contact was on the shoulder area not saying it’s a clean play and should be penalized, but let’s not be ridiculous here. they are men they can handle it.

  13. You see, Bob got an elbow to the head and you don’t see FL whining about it for more than 2 minutes.
We need to stop making a dramatic scene out of every play. After all this is a contract sport.

  14. At some point the NHL will have to be investigated for fixing games.
How has it gone this far with all the betting involved?
How can anyone honestly tell me FLA is NOT being helped to win another Cup by non calls in game and by DOPS?
Does Bettman plan on retiring in FLA with Campbell and Parros as his golf buddy's?

  15. The reason the NHL allows this to go on is because fans do NOT speak up with their wallet.
Stop supporting TOR financially and watch how fast they fix the team.
I stopped spending $ on Hockey years ago because I knew TOR management only cares about $.
For them to turn a 45 year die hard Hockey fan into someone who sometimes listens on the radio and turns it off as soon as TOR are down 2-0 in game 7 of the 2nd round of playoffs then well that is all that needs to be said about the state of the NHL.
