  1. Joey – the Oil will not play 2/3rds of a game in game 2, and presumably Stars won’t play 1/3rd of a game either. Expect McDry to run their usual HLH give and go we all did in high school. And they will do it because no one can stop it. The closest the stars got was limiting McDry speed gain in the NZ like they did last year. If Stars have a chance tonight it will be getting in Skinners head early and often and putting Oil into a different mode, one more likely to generate ST situations. Stars like to play from behind and are not good at building game or series leads. Will be interesting to see what the coaches do tonight but I expect the Oil will hit 36 shots with 3-4 goals. Stars will not be able to generate good xGF or High Danger shot quantity.

  2. Definitely have to improve 5 on 5 but in total fairness they don't have to be the best 5 on 5 teams against Edmonton at all times because that's legitimately the best five on five team right now in hockey. Just have to win more consistently at even strength. The power plays will still be there. It's not like they were horrible at even strength either just I think take a little bit longer to adjust to their opponent. It was the same in the Winnipeg series

  3. Shadowing a superstar takes a certain amount of skill and training too. It feels and looks weird to do right and can throw the whole team off. I personally hated it because it ruined my teams game, and made me feel like the coach didn’t trust us to win playing our way. Mind I’m coming at this from juniors, not the nhl.

  4. Intensity and passion will beat the Oilers. With that comes energy and physicality. The way the Stars played in the 3rd period is the winning recipe. They looked downright passive in game 1 in the first 2 periods. Made it so easy for the Oilers. That won't happen by the Oilers in Edmonton in Game 3 & 4. This has been a major issue for the Stars in past seasons as well. If you can't get yourself going with passion in the WCF, then there is another issue that needs to be resolved. I've always said there is a leadership issue with the Stars. Great teams don't allow themselves to be passive when it really counts.

  5. I noticed Robo block the view of the Oiler goalie as we Stars scored on a major goal. He gets an assist ((in my mind) for being in exactly the right place at the right time.

  6. Robertson…not so worried about him. He's still getting healthy. But a question needs to be asked . . . 'Where's Wyatt?'

  7. Os Stars mostraram porque são um dos times mais consistentes da liga, e agora a pressão está do lado dos Oilers para responder à altura.

    Abraços, São Paulo Brasil.

  8. I don't understand why everyone all of a sudden is like, "The stars can only score on the PP." I remember not too long ago, they couldn't score on the PP to save their lives. Last WCF, they went 0/14, and everyone kept saying, "If only they could score on some of those, the outcome could have been different." Sure, they might not be scoring a ton on 5/5 at the moment, but who cares. If the other team gives you opportunities and you take advantage of them, who really cares. Edm showed lack of discipline on some of those penalties and Dallas made them pay. It's that simple.

  9. It's amazing to me the Stars are where they are in the playoffs….Several of their top players have been almost invisible. (as you describe ROBO)… they are going to Have to put together multiple complete games as a team to get past Oilers and Win the Cup…. In addition to ROBO, Wyatt, HIntz, Duchene, Benn, Sequin are not contributing at a championship level IMO. Some of these guys have had a few moments, but need to play consistently at a high level for Dallas to advance and have a chance against I presume the Swamp Cars. Go Stars

  10. No faith in Robo. When he wins some battles he'll get going but he's such a floater. Sucks. Hope to get rid of him this off season.

  11. Oettinger needs to continue to play at a high level, not get rattled, stay consistent. He will be very important to win the series in addition to the defensive coverage in helping him out. I also wanna see Duchene, Robo, and Benn get involved in putting the puck in the net. Make it harder for the Oilers to get to the net and score. Wyatt Johnson and Thomas Harley have been quiet lately. Put the puck in the net every scoring opportunity that they can create in this game.
