USA won gold yesterday at the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championship ending the 93 year drought.
The last time USA won was back on 1933.
What is embarrassing is Canada losing in the semi against Denmark at the 2025 IIHF with pros playing.
Canada is always the favorites to win gold.
Let me know your thoughts on todays news and rumours

Laine to canucks? uh no thanks
Patrick Laine to Vancouver? . You'd be better.
Off hiring me at 64 years old with one bad leg.At least I'd get in somebody's way and make a difference
Leafs have no trade capital at forward but could make trades on D while improving & shedding salary: Rielly, McCabe, Carlo out, Fabro, Perbix, Klingberg in.
G! Miss him in Philly.
Montreal only would trade for Hronek, that is what they need. Return to Canucks should be Xhekaj brows and 3 rdpick.
Young Russian in ABBY is ready for NHL. He will push some one out.
Canucks already have soft melon Chytil… Laine too? Put them on a line with EP40 and call it… Soft serve
3 times 4 million for the Gman in Ottawa … would be fair
Lafrenière to Canucks is much more appealing than Zegras or Laine
4 mill a year for Claude. If they treat him right he could be part of the management team after he retires.
Special teams, penalty kill and the powerplay and limit his ice time, save him for the playoffs, and when injuries occur.
Who on earth would want Laine? Habs will not resign him. If he gets hot maybe they can trade him at the deadline.
Keep tarasenko get rid of copp
For real why would any team consider Laine
Lafrenière by a mile. 🏒🏒
No way Laine!
Lazy laine, NO THANKS!
You are definitely wrong, it was Dr. Dre
Habs should keep him. Nothing wrong with having a one dimensional guy when his dimension is scoring. Play him top 6.
If Montreal trades Laine during the offseason, they will have to take a haircut on him. But…
Here’s a weird idea that just might work. Imagine Laine as a top-6 LW (yes, LW) with Toronto. Teams keep trying to play Laine at RW because he is a right-hand shooter, and most people play their best when on their strong side. Laine is like Ovechkin, in that he’s vastly superior playing on his “weak” side than he is on his strong side.
Think about it—why is he so successful on the power play? Yeah, I know someone is thinking “because he doesn’t have to play defence on the power play”. Har har.
No. It’s because he plays the power play on the left wall. He’s got better vision of the ice, he can protect the puck better, he can win more puck battles because playing on the weak side lets you put your strong arm on your opponent and then you can turn and trap him with your back. He’s got no play at all. And, especially good for Laine, it’s harder to get blindsided in the attack zone on your off wing.
So, whoever takes him, please stop banging your head against the glass and play him on the left wing at 5v5! I promise you, the results will be worth it!
