  1. Why would the islanders hire shanahand he is a complete failure as Gm in Toronto what is wrong with teams looking for for Proven Gm s go figure

  2. Despite not winning the Cup, I'm proud of this Leafs era. It's probably the best Leafs era we've ever had being a top NHL team for 9 seasons and having the most amazing talented line up. It was a great show while it lasted. People just have to accept not EVERYONE can win the championships. Look at all the great teams that haven't won either but had amazing legacies.

  3. To me, this just further proves that opting to stick with Dubas instead of Lou (recall that Colorado wanted Dubas but the Leafs told them no, got rid of Lou, and promoted Dubas) turned out to be the worst move of the Shanahan era. I bet Lou wouldn't have given all the young guys EVERYTHING so soon before they had accomplished anything, including all those NMCs with the big money.

  4. Roy would kill Marner before the end of the season. Marner is soft and no heart. Patrick is the very definition of intense and heart. It would mesh like a street walker and church

  5. Shanahan was the problem in Toronto, that is why things got run back all the time when it was clear 4 years ago that the core 4 era should have been blown up. No the cupboards are bare and the near future is compromised because of mismanagement at the top. To defend that is insane, but it is the fans fault, not the management right? It could be a rough ride for a while for a fan base that is so abused by the franchise and taken for granted every single year. The plan failed, move on. Don't protect the failure and claim it was something fantastic with unlimited upside.

  6. Mitch Marner should join the Panthers and build a dynasty. Come back to Toronto and tell the scumbag fans to shove it. Maple Leafs fans are the root of all the problems.

  7. i'm so tired of the marner getting paid talk no other team boasts a mathews nylander tavares i see him topping out around the 75 to 80 point range and his lack of playoff success will cost him some cash 115mil per is tops for me and he WON'T go far from home i say DETROIT

  8. Haha! All of you Leafs fans that look at this team like it's a religion…get a life. There's more going on in this world than a stupid hockey game. Don't forget, this is all a distraction from what's really going on – war, hunger, death. We are a spinning ball of dust in the universe and all of our lives will be over before you know it, and the Leafs will still have not won a Stanley Cup in your lifetime.

  9. I hope Marner does not leave the Leafs for the Islanders…..it is my hope that he leaves for a Western conference team so we see much of less of him during the regular season. As for Shanahan, it doesn't make much difference where he goes.

  10. Good riddance to Marner and Shanahan. Time to move on and unless JT wants to play for 3.5-4.0 he can leave too.

  11. We don't want Shanahan on Long Island. Eleven years two Playoff series victories? No thanks.

  12. No way. Long Island is greasy as heck no way Marner should go there. Mitch should go to Kings/Ducks and reunite with J Bieber. Wishing him well!
