I can understand the reasoning why that first Canes goal counted… but man if thats not a kick then we should just get rid of the rule cause I swear that would get called a kick 8/10 times but it didnt and it didnt matter in the end but it just feels silly.
And how about Svechnikov kneeing Bob in the head? The Canes were dirty in this one.
Regarding that Aho Skate goal, I do believe Aho helps change the direction by moving his skate. Wouldn’t that constitute as a kick or negate the goal? Marchand gets away with so much, including hits off the puck. But I have to say the resulting drama in the third is just part of why payoff hockey is the best thing in all of sports.
If we (CANES) win game two, AT HOME convincingly then we have a chance. If we don’t win with an exclamation point we lose the series. I’m a huge Canes fan but last nights game was telling. What’s telling is the NHL has two rules books. One for regular season and one for the playoffs. BS.

OMG, the Hurricanes are getting their butts kicked again in game 2 in Carolina. They look like they don't belong in the Eastern Conference Finals. It looks like Florida is going to represent in the Stanley Cup. One team is good, and the other team is bad.
Relatively new to Really getting into hockey. From a fresh eyes perspective, I would try to sit down and figure out how to protect against goals scored that are seemingly "impossible" to block. Anticipate deflection angles based on screens? Could and would a goalie ever anticipate a deflection angle if a player is really good at tipping? And block for the deflection. There has to be patterns on impossible to block shots that could be worked on. Are people within organizations working on this?
