Hayes, you're a fraud! Gaudette ran into Benoit near the opposite face off circle, knocking him into OEL, thus knocking OEL off balance as well, causing both OEL AND Benoit to be unable to get to Gaudette and box him out or tie up his stick in time.
Domi deserves a lot of credit for the goal, but the reason he scored was Benoit picking off the puck, rushing it into the zone, making a smart drop pass, then immediately going to the front of the net full speed, drawing the sens d men with him, jumping across with his big butt right in the face of Ullmark. See the camera angle from the behind the leafs net (not shown in this video) and Ullmark had no clue that a shot was really taken, let alone where it was headed. If Benoit doesn't go quickly to the net and screen Ullmark, he would make a blocker save on that shot at least 9 times out of 10.
That play was on OEL completely unnecessary reverse should have just kept wheeling

E-L should never have dropped that puck off behind the net. He left Domi handcuffed. Im not a Maximus fan but that goal wasn’t his fault in the least. Thank God he scored the OT winner though.

for my money, Benoit had more to do with that goal.
Benoit makes a head's up play in his zone and takes the puck, skates it to the Ottawa zone, drops it to Domi. Benoit then makes a beeline for the Ottawa net and makes the perfect screen. Ullmark never saw that puck.
Nobody talks about how it’s not so great that Toronto were ahead 2-0 and had to go to OT to luckily win the game ?
