  1. Rathbone smooth and confidence Ready, position plays well .Hughes wasn't ready But you think Rathbone is ready already filled the miners Let's the kids play mistakes will Happened it's ok, Learning your mistakes. Next on the Blocked price Jet woo my Favorite

  2. Is he ready? Probably. Does he need to? I'd say perhaps, dependent on how Juolevi develops and how they want to use the three young LD's. I'd be happy if Olli could eat the tough minutes and Hughes could primarily go all Mike Green on the league, and Jack could eat up depth minutes for both scoring and shutdown duties to help both OJ and Quinn as a combo D.

    On paper, hopefully can see
    Juolevi – Schmidt (tough minutes)
Hughes – Hamonic (let Quinn score and have lighter D responsibilities)
    Rathbone – Myers (all situations)

  3. In his few games played he already looks to be top four. On the Canucks that is. Could always be demoted to the third pairing.

  4. Yes, just look at the top defensive corps in the league and they are all relatively young. Avs, Bruins. Lightning and Knights are strong too and there oldest defencemen i believe is 31. Myers, Schmidt, Hamonic will be 30-31 next season. We gotta inject some youth in the lineup not only cause Rathbone is young, also cause hes good.

  5. He's played 8 NHL games no way you can tell from that and in basically no pressure situations , but sure has more promise than Juolevi or Chatfield etc .

  6. Is he fully ready no but he’s half way there and exciting to watch play him more pls and bring back t hammy

  7. Selfishly, yes! I want to see as much Rathbone and Podkolzin as humanly possible…it's gonna be a long season, and I'm okay if they took a few extra minutes from the top guys

  8. Clay love your insight, think you're one of the best online when it comes to Canucks plus you're a likeable guy. One thing really bothers me. You often talk of edgewoek, the new catch phrase i guess to sound more knowledgeable ? Bothers me, you say Rathbine is a great skater or Hughes. Please leave it at thst, like you or i or 98% of us out there know anythung about edgework or can see the diff bewteen one and rhe other. Yes Benning or highly trained professionals can see that but clearly we cannot so please this only sounds like you're trying and looks like someone pretending to speak on subjects they know nothing about. Now if you can i truly apologise but 99.9% of us can only see good or great skater and rhis seems … like uoire trying when you dont need ro as youre clearly way more knowlegdeable than most everyine out there.
I love your show and hope i did not come across too critacal. Keep up the great wrok, you dont need to fske it, youre the real deal.
    Thank you

  9. This is a ridiculous question. He’s only played 8 games and sheltered on a 3rd line pairing..a stable team would bring him along gradually and not put unnecessary pressure on him.

  10. Thanks for your always upbeat, thoughtful and sober content. He is obviously bright so probably has superior hockey sense. Best wishes to Jack going forward with his career with Vancouver.

  11. No not top 4 initially we need people to work their way into the lineup. You don't gift someone top 4 You need some time with a veteran to work your way up. We already did that with Quinn Hughes and frankly he went backwards this year. Offense is only one part of the equation. Sure he can become top 4 You have to work them into the lineup. Edler needs to go we can't keep these players until they becomw a liability Edler is becoming that.

  12. Lots of promise, I think he has a good chance to be on the team to start the year, whether he is top four will depend on who they are able to pick up in the off season. I bet he is top four by the end of the year.

  13. If you want to win you can't run two offence first sub 5'10" defenceman. Not sure if you've been watching the playoffs but all the successful teams have big strong mobile D that can kill the cycle and box out forwards. You really think running a top four left side with Hughes and Rathbone would be a recipe for success? In my opinion Olli is the key. If he has a good summer of training, after getting a good taste of what it takes to play in the league, he could be the wild card. He plays better defence than both Hughes and Rathbone. Can't have your defence filled with weak defending puck movers.

  14. Now all we need is a big, physical top 4 defensive D man who can skate and get the puck out of trouble. Those don’t exactly grow on trees, but I hope Jett Woo in a couple of years fits that bill.
