  1. As a Wings fan I really feel like 3 things are expected.1.) Young players need to take another step i.e Seider, Raymond, Ed, Kasper. 2.) Have to fix Defensive structure and play. 3.) Playoffs.

  2. 2025-2026 Off-season Checklist

    1. Trade/Buyout Holl
    2. Trade/Buyout Tarasenko
    3. Sign Marner or trade for 70+ point Top-6 FWD
    4. Sign Top-4 D. Gavrikov, Ekblad, Provorov, Lindgren
    5. Re-Sign Kane or upgrade w/ 1 of Tavares, Marchand, Duchene, Benn, Giroux, Nelson, R.Smith, Granlund on 1-2 year deals.
    6. Sign Merrill or Savard (<$1.5M AAV)
    7. Sign G <$1.5M AAV

*Trade Chips: Berggren, Johansson, 25’ 3rd, 25’ 7th, all other owned draft picks

  3. Red Wings fan – good video Mike. Chairot in my opinion is better than people give him credit for, he has too big of a role. Red Wings certainly have some work to do, Kane needs to stay. I still have faith in the Yzerplan but barely and this year was jarring

  4. I don’t understand how anyone who’s been watching what Florida has been doing to these “skilled” forwards and still want us to sign guys like marner, kane, giroux, or tavares.

  5. Yzerman has been building this team for the future. He just has not luck in drafts getting top three pick, but he and his staff has done a good job of drafting. They really need a true first line center…. Big question would you trade Larkin now if you can get a great return?

  6. The one big thing omitted was that the Wings still have plenty of talent in the pipelines, whereas teams like Ottawa and Buffalo, in general, have graduated theirs. (Montreal is going to be a real problem in a couple of years.) The Wings still need to be a bit patient as that talent blossoms. That said, they are, for the first time in a decade, ready to make major moves – signing big free agents or making trades. The previous few years, the team wasn't necessarily put together to make the playoffs, but to insulate the young stars (Seider, Raymond, etc.). It just worked out better than expected and raised unfair expectations IMO. As for Larkin and Yzerman butting heads, it's really a non-story. Obviously, both want to win. The each have jobs to do and they way they go about that is different and isn't always in tandem.
