USA Outlook: Other than the 3-0 loss to Switzerland during group play, this is a team that averages five goals per game. Defeated Denmark, Hungary, Norway (6-5 OT), Kazakhstan and Czechia.
Coming off 5-2 and 6-2 victories over Finland and Sweden. I would have to say USA had the harder road during the playoff elimination tilts. I’m not sure if this should be considered a “Miracle on Ice” against U.S.S.R. But USA hockey account has Men’s Worlds competing for Gold for the first time in 91 years and pinned. So, there must be some caveat to it.
