IIHF Worlds Gold Medal Game: USA vs. Switzerland P-B-P/Color πŸ’πŸŽ™οΈπŸŽ¨ 5-25-25

Team Switzerland (8-0-1) HC: Patrick Fischer

Switzerland Outlook: This team has absolutely crushed the Worlds so far. After losing the opening game of the tournament to Czechia in overtime, they have defeated everyone else by at least three goals or more. Denmark, USA (3-0), Germany, Norway, Hungary and Kazakhstan.

Coming off a 6-0 and 7-0 (13-0) differential during the playoffs of Austria and Denmark. This is a heavyweight fight and if the production holds, they should get Gold. Scoring Leaders: Tyler Moy (4-8-12); Denis Malgin (1-10-11); Kevin Fiala (3-7-10); Timo Meier (3-7-10); Sven Andrighetto (7-1-8)

Team USA (8-1-0) HC: Ryan Warsofsky

USA Outlook: Other than the 3-0 loss to Switzerland during group play, this is a team that averages five goals per game. Defeated Denmark, Hungary, Norway (6-5 OT), Kazakhstan and Czechia.

Coming off 5-2 and 6-2 victories over Finland and Sweden. I would have to say USA had the harder road during the playoff elimination tilts. I’m not sure if this should be considered a β€œMiracle on Ice” against U.S.S.R. But USA hockey account has Men’s Worlds competing for Gold for the first time in 91 years and pinned. So, there must be some caveat to it. Scoring Leaders: Frank Nazar (6-6-12); Logan Cooley (4-7-11); Conor Garland (5-5-10); Clayton Keller (3-7-10); Shane Pinto (7 GP, 2-8-10); Cutter Gauthier (5-4-9); Tage Thompson (5-3-8)
