  1. MR skinner is coming into his prime at 26 years old I said to my brother stu would have shutout tonight before oilers took to ice he said post interview after 1st game he need it to improve on his side to side movement post to post he is improving every game I expect 2 more shut outs in this series and when we head to final against
Florida your going to see something very special the battle of goalies skinner vs BoB and that will be decider who wins Stanley cup

    GO OILERS GO

  2. I love how Skinner instinctively pulled in his right foot because he knew if it hung out the puck would deflect off his skate and go in.. which is why he kind of ended up rolling out at the end there. Looked a bit odd but was exactly what Skinner planned to do. Kudos.

  3. In an alternate universe, the puck hits his stick and slides over to hit his skate and go in. The crowd goes wild and Dallas storms in again and scores again. With five seconds left in the game, Rantanen scores. Nurse who didn't get the memo takes another dumb penalty and Rantanen completes the OT come back. Nice save, Skinner.

  4. Of lindell had shotfaster, or harder, or a bit higher, it'd have gone in.

He chose the worst option in that moment, to hesitate briefly, shoot like little force, and shoot low.

In the end, he chose this shot and Skinner chose that save, so it was a Great save at the end.

  5. So scary how inconsistent Skinner is. He either leaks like an old pipe or he stops every shot and some in miraculous ways

  6. I'm starting to think that Stuart Skinner might be the Schrödingers Cat equivalent of a superstar-goaltender.
He's tied for the lead in shutouts with Bobrovsky, 3 a piece, but lost all of the other 5 starts.
Seems, like the quantum entanglement breaks down pretty drastically, once the oilers open the box on any given night.
    Like:
He's got scored on 6x, 5x and 4x for his first 3 games of the POs, and 5x for his 6th, for a combined save percentage of 81,65%… Thats a pretty bad, dead-cat odor, for any standardized fan-observers.
And then he has games like this one here!

Maybe, one day, the language for this may change.
We may not stop talking about "Schrödingers Cat" to ridicule QEM, replacing it with the "Stu Skinner phenomenon".
    – but –
We may end up moving away from calling goalie assessment "Voodoo", in honor of this guy…

  7. What I love about that save is how well he tracked the puck after the stick save when the puck whipped behind him.

What a confounding goaltender. The type who could simultaneously make a record for the worst save% in the playoffs and the most shutouts! And his stats in games 4-7 are off the charts, beyond elite. Confounding.

  8. This was like the opposite of the Draisaitl tip-in own goal. If there's any sign of hockey gods existing, this would be one.
