Its just a hook. Hands and sticks got tangled and Blake loses his balance. Luostarinen doesnt drive through him, goes after numbers etc. He even tries to avoid the hit, cuts off his speed and rolls away from Blake. Its 2+2 for hook and an injury imo.

I don't think it was that bad. He chipped his stick, makes contact, and then slides off to the side. The hitter's back hits the boards. It's a tough hockey play. 5 minute major, yes, only because of the result. No suspension.

Luosty spins to avoid the hit while Blake turns at that same moment. The outcome is absolutely a major because of the dangerous play but no way it was intentional.

Big players hit small players and these things happen. Would have been clean if size are the same. Panthers are the toughest team in the NHL and intimidate other teams.

That looked like the typical panther hit during the Leaf's series where there never was a call… Refs and league couldn't care less then. I think everyone knew that once the panthers were playing another US team the whistle would come back out and discipline would be reinstated. And no to all you idiots that are jaw slobbering to jump on this, I am not a Leaf fan …. I am a hockey fan and want to see the league go back to a "NHL" league and be done with the "US" league….

Florida is a dirty team who gives dirty hits. But this wasnt intentional in my opinion. He spun around and totally had a bad landing.
"The panthers are hard on you. They play extremely hard…." blah blah blah. Everyone knows they've been head hunting people since the Tampa series. It only took like 15-20 suspension worthy plays for this call to happen. This team is criminal, and the league, and every nhl fan knows it.
Ugly hit, yes, dirty no. Both playing the puck and momentum is going to bring them together with the boards as a stopping point. The panthers player goes to the side and so does then Canes player and he tries to spin away but with them both going the same they collide badly. The only way to stop this would be to have either player not go after the puck. It’s different from say the rangers player who went full Superman to try and hit someone or the hits when the puck isn’t even by the player like what Ovi did. Dirty to me is when they aren’t even playing the puck just hitting to hurt. And honestly I don’t think too many were saying as much when the Canes player shot the puck at the Panthers player for no other reason then to intend to hurt. (Btw I’m not going to go and see how each players name is spelled). I’m not a panthers fan btw my team didn’t even make it into the playoffs.
