Tocchet speaks on goals from Derek Forbort and Aatu Räty, Thatcher Demko’s strong performance,
well Rick you talk a lot about consistency so what does it mean to have these two wins back to back yeah it’s a big win for us uh obviously dmer was really good for us especially in the first half of the game um and we talked about you know I don’t think we were in love with our first two periods but I thought this third we played our best period and sometimes that’s what you have to do even if you you feel like you’re not playing your best game as a team or individual you got to you got to find a period And I thought the the third period were better obviously there’s been a lot of talk about Derrick forber especially that time when Quinn Hughes was out and a goal for himself tonight what have you seen from him defensively over the last maybe couple weeks yeah he’s a he’s a common influence out there you know he’s you’re asking him to play with some young guys and um he’s a leader he’s really good in the PK and obviously supplied some offense you know he had a a great assist in um Jersey so he’s quite what he said he’s a sneaky offensive player so um good for him yeah he’s he’s been great for us you said pregame you need everyone and then you get some goals from you know unlikely sources with ber and ratu you know in this game like this so just everybody stepping up the right time yeah a couple of nice shot pass goals which is nice to see different way of scoring um yeah depth scoring helps right shy getting a couple um you know uh like I said fory so yeah at this time of year you especially you know with our team right now we need dep scoring we need everybody to contribute ratu’s return to the Islanders as well as first game back playing against them and he grabs a goal he was just talking about a little bit does that add a little bit of sugar on on top when you get a goal against your old team oh yeah it always is but I think it for him it’s just confidence you know to you know maybe that loosens him up a bit but that’s you know it’s a nice goal for him to get and uh you know it’s always nice a young guy to get that get something uh like a goal or assist uh and uh it really helps you unlocks you for the next game so hopefully he gets he builds conf Confidence from that how is lancol in doing he’s good he had a good practice so he’s available like you know he you know we just wanted to get him some rest he could have you know back up backed up tonight so but I just wanted to get him some rest tonight and get him ready uh for if it’s the next game or the next game after that we’re not quite sure but he’s ready to go uh important was Demco you mentioned yeah first half but I think he gave up five two1 ones in the first two periods and they only got one goal out of it how important was he that yeah uh we don’t like the two-on ones I’ll tell you that but the way Demmer is uh he made a hell of a save on the one post to post you know what could be a different game if they score right and um but you know Lake Den says you know that’s my he says that’s my job to stop those which is true but we got to limit those chances especially early in the game
