I actually do think Laine can be effective defensively. I certainly saw flashes of that throughout the season but whether those were flukes or not remains to be seen

Im glad that Kent is not rushing the rebuild because we made the playoffs. That round against the Capitals showed that team was not ready yet
I think Montreal grabs that third spot in the Atlantic next year. Ottawa and Florida good. Boston done, Tampa we’ll see, Toronto is a huge question mark, Detroit probably not and buffalo when pigs fly

For Suzuki 2 goals in 5 games is consistent with the regular season stats (30 in 82), if not better. The no assists were the surprise, I think.
They already deviated from the plan trading away first picks for Dach and Newhook and acquiring high priced underachievers like Laine.What plan they needed a center but drafted wingers and D men lol.They claimed they needed a RD but he was in Laval all year while playing a complete bum in Savard who could barely skate and did a better job screening the goalie but people called it blocking shots lol.
They needed toughness but MSL made Arber his whipping boy his excuse scapegoat.MSL over played Matheson seems a legit way to NOT give young players more notable ice time to….improve?
if anything this team has been all over the place with no direction and it shows on the ice with VERY inconsistent play and NO age does NOT have anything to do with it.MTL needs a coach and smarter management Gorton is over rated Hughes is ok but yeah he does need help just not from Gorton.

We saw the results of Bergevin era "winging it" plan. I'm fully invested in this rebuild and like the moves so far. the hard work is coming

Tavarus is a free agent and could sign cheaper for for 4 years at 7 to 8 million. BEST BUY AVAILABLE H e wants a cup and Toronto will not fit the bill. Add Desnoyers and prepare for a cup in your future. Hage added in a year or so and the cup is full for the takin BEST BUY AVAILABLE H e wants a cup and hage will join the frey next year. GHG. And cheaper than Laine so unload as soon as possible.

Habs will have a shot next season! What a exciting mix. Best scenario: Demidov creates space for specially Laine, Powerplay will be leathal, Hutson blossoms more, 2-3rd round, 2027 finals. Worst scenario: They lose first 10, rollercoaster season, no time for team building. Laine gets his finger in hot coffee & OUT 50+ games
I have complete faith in what Hughes and Gorton are doing with this team. The fact that Montreal has already shown such marked improvement since they took over management is exciting, and they're not rushing it either. I believe they actually do HAVE a plan, as opposed to the "Yzerplan" or "Shanaplan".
If nick gets hurt we're pretty much screwed and that scares me 😅
What people dont see with Slaf and his progression is more than points. He made the same amount of points, but went from -19 to +4, often being the first man to help to help in defense. He doesnt fall on his ass anymore and leads the team with hits and is 5th in the league with top line time behind only Wilson, Tkatchuk, Trocheck, Cozens and Schenn, but only the first 2 has more points than him while being at least 4 years younger. Yet, people think he's trash and doesnt progress and should be traded… Give him 3-4 more years and he's gonna lead the league.

The smart thing to do with Laine would be to keep him and hope he has a huge contract year. I don’t think he’s gonna be on the team past next year either way

Montrbeult will never be a top 20 goalie, he is made to be a great back up, fowler or dobes are the future starters. Feel free to come back to this 2 years from now
