Canada enters every tournament with expectations to win gold. That is an amazing belief. We cannot do it every time but we come close. Losing to a lower ranked team will happen but very rarely. It is good for the game. Grows interest. However, Canada is also a proud team and never forgets a loss to a rival. As much as Canada loves the Danes they will come back aggressively in a rematch.
Denmark has accomplished an amazing feat. It will not carry them to a gold so this is their victory. It is highly likely they will lose their next game. But it was fun while it lasted.

Give the Danes credit. I’m old enough to recall vividly the 1980 Miracle on Ice, Game 8 in Moscow 72 when Canada was together from coast to coast, and the 67 centennial tournament cup win over Soviet red machine in Winnipeg coached by Jackie Macleod. The winning team earned it each time, so did the Danes. Great game, good luck in the remaining tournament 🍁

I’m from Denmark, and I didn’t even know that we had a hockey national team.
It’s deliberate act of protest and solidarity with Denmark from Canada…no sport just political statement…sorry Denmark hockey team 😢
So here is my take and you NA nations and teams and so called fans aint gonna like this so buckle up
the CA and US teams are not as good as you think you are, and have not been for a while and here is why.
you where the gold standard of the sport, no question and Russia too BUT they are no longer pushing you at the top due to BS political biased but thats a different story and not for this.
the level you trained at the way you trained hasnt changed for decades only the gear has changed nothing more, the rest of the world took the way you do things and no are catching you up, you are stagnant in the training and game, you aint improving or pushing further, BUT the others like the Swiss Danish Germans Swedish Czech and so forth ARE catching you up and now starting to pass you in ability.
that can not be ignored or brushed off, 20 years ago the NHL has about 8 to 10% overseas players, now its closer to 40% this means we are catching you, if it wasnt the case you wouldnt see the increase and only take home grown talent.
the Draft is Rigged for the NA players to be pushed first and not the best. the kids are good but the numbers they put up are against other KIDS, meh goalies and sure as shit MEH Defense men.
mean while the European kids are at 17 to 19 playing in there respective adult nations leagues learning how to play big boy hockey take a big boy hit the chirping and all other BS.
AND in NA your kids are playing kids hockey still putting up WELL over inflated numbers that actually mean jack shit tbh.
now dont get me wrong some kids have talent but its a handle full, and the rest fade away or never get a game in the NHL despite them playing being drafted in the 1st or 2nd.
then when your gets are drafted they go back to the minors and the European kids go back home to the big boy leagues.
the NHL is slowly becoming a meh league, and it WILL be passed by Europe soon in around 10 to 15 years. the only thing the NHL has is teams with billionaire owners and sponsors BUT thats slowly changing, if you think im wrong look at the Football in the UK, it was the gold standard they took the foot off the gass didnt improve and slowly but surely they nation team went to shit as the players couldnt get a game before overseas talent and not the overseas leagues are fast catching up in terms or wealth owners and ability on all levels on and off the pitch
the same WILL happen to the NHL. your stadiums are over priced the players are over paid and the fans im sorry to say you aint fans, you are CLIENTS and it shows. meanwhile in Europe little so called teams like SC Bern are charging 40 bucks a ticked packing out 18000 fans every game and the atmosphere is bagging ever game and 5 times that of ANY NHL arena could ever dream of, hell even smaller teams like Sheffield Steelers in the UK or Eisbar Berlin make you look quiet and thats before we start in the Czech leagues or other teams which i can mention PLENTY.
money doesnt buy everybody, and nor does having the so called best players on is if nobody can play for the team the shirt and not the salary.
OH and Ice hockey was invented by the British
