Habs or Sens: which team is bigger threat next year?
After successful seasons that saw both the Canadiens and Senators return to the playoffs, TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado joins Domino’s That’s Hockey to discuss which team is poised to be a bigger threat next year.
I’m a sens fan but Montreal has a better future. I don’t think the coach for ottawa can take them any further. Ottawa keeps making the same mistakes and have issues scoring 5 on 5. Stutzle is a good player but he is not a superstar.
3 Canadian Teams going to Round 2. We are actually having a conversation about Habs and Sens being a threat. The Flames are moving in the right direction. The more Canada in hockey the better
Probably sens. Habs over achieved this year and will lose a lot of veterans. Dvorak, armia, matheson, savard. The team will get even younger, hopefully they trade for a 2c which will help. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see them miss the playoffs next year.
Other than Caufield and Hutson, I dont see anyone else on the Habs who arent close to hiting their prime. I still feel like Ottawa players have more to offer: Stutzle (getting his shoulder fixed), Sanderson, Kleven, Cozens, Pinto. It feels like Ottawa has better potential in their depth
If the Sens can figure out a way to get through constant emotionality and vibes while not giving up so many goal scoring chances… Or play the underdogs for the next 5-10 years.. Look out!
Senators- with miracle comebacks and bringing in ventrans, hopefully Senators should go after another for defense and Fowards, and trade away Forsberg and Hamonic later in the off-season and bring in Merlanin, then they will be scary next season

Not sure what kind of threat they’ll pose since both will be out of the playoffs next year. Rangers and Wings will be taking the wild card spots.

I think Habs. Lots of young guys still coming in, guys in their second and third year getting even better.
Sens for me. Have more pieces in place and goaltending. Need to add depth and mature.
As a Habs fan, I think Sens have a window sooner, but long Short/Long Term Habs have great prospects developing.

They always cater these segments to the bigger markets.
