Danny giving credit to Tocc for Arizona being better than expected when that was mostly Darcy Kuemper playing out of his mind.

i think its interesting that people over a certain age, say 40 are ok with this, and the under is like nope…same old same old they say. well he hasnt coached the flyers, and he bleeds orange. Im good with it. its my people that buy season tickets. So f off youngins…give the man a chance, they call it nepotism, I call it hiring a guy that truly cares about the colors, I do agree he hasnt necessarily been an amazing coach but he's gonna care more here
It’s obvious the 5th year is why Tocchet is here. Every other job probably offered 3-4 and the Flyers offered 5. 10-15 years from now Giroux will be GM and Laughton will be the coach
I'm sure Dan is a nice guy but he has no place working for an NHL team.
I hope Tocc works, and he certainly has the best resume. But this was the most risk averse option for management and Dan. Management will be judged on this hire and I’m sure they want the most defensible/acclaimed candidate. It’s not necessary to take the risk if you’re confident in the return, but I just really hope they underwrote to the maximum potential return rather than protecting their downside risk. They’ve been protecting their downside for far too long; it’s time to go for it. Go big!
Apathy has set in. I could care less about another Flyers country club member coming back home
Tocc is a good coach and a really good at not just holding players accountable but he can talk to the players without always screaming at them, he’s a good communicator and commands respect. He’s just a standup guy who’s well respected around the league.

Pressure is on Briere to build this team in the Draft and Free Agency additions especially next Summer when they have 35 M to spend only 16M after RFA signings this year. Which in reality means 2/3 additions this summer and 3/ 4 major additions the next Summer.
The Flyers should have rehired Tortorella and given him a trillion dollar contract after the performance of Laughton, farabee and frost post Philadelphia.
Laughton: 2 goals in 33 games
Farabee: getting 9 minutes ice time in Calgary
Frost: pp specialist, nothingburger 5 on 5
