What are the Florida Panthers doing that’s throwing the Carolina Hurricanes off the most?

EJ Hradek, NHL Network, joins the Adam Gold Show to discuss the Carolina Hurricanes and what they need to do to adjust to the Florida Panthers style in Game 3 for the Eastern Conference Finals. Should the Carolina Hurricanes completely change their lines for Game 3 in the ECF?

  1. They do everything that the Canes pride themselves on better than the Canes. And yes Lundell was the 15th overall pick.

Paul Maurice built these Panthers, don’t take his credit away by saying Rod would coach them in a similar style. Rod would’ve built the team in Carolina to this same standard if that was the case.

Paul Maurice and Bill Zito are on another level just like the Panthers at this moment. That’s why players are taking pay cuts to stay here and be around the system. We will get 20M in cap space this offseason from the salary cap raise, and we will get an extra 4-5M next year when Bobrovskys 10M per year contract expires and he takes a paycut to close out his career. This Panther team is a wagon and they’re only just getting going. The core is locked up we will easily resign Bennett, Ekblad, and Marchand this offseason with Bennett being the only one that will likely cost anything in the big picture. Ekblad is going to take a paycut if he stays, and Marchand will likely close out his career here for around 4.5M per year. Let’s say Bennett gets 7.5M a year, Marchand gets 4.5ish, and Ekblad gets 5M ish that still leaves almost 7M to spend next offseason to bring in another player when Bobrovsky takes his paycut.
