In this episode of Locked On Capitals, we dive into several key storylines shaping the Washington Capitals’ offseason. First, we discuss the alarming arrest of defenseman Alex Alexeyev for public intoxication following an altercation in Arlington. This incident raises concerns about his future with the team, especially given his status as a former first-round pick. The Capitals are looking to build a younger and more disciplined roster, and Alexeyev’s off-ice issues could jeopardize his opportunity to establish himself as a reliable NHL defenseman. On a more positive note, we celebrate Andrew Cristall’s successful junior career, leading the WHL in scoring with a historic 132 points before officially joining the Hershey Bears. Alongside Cristall’s ascension, we explore Hendrix Lapierre’s redemption story, as he rebounds from a tough season to thrive in the AHL. Both players symbolize hope for the Capitals’ future as the team aims to retool with dynamic, youthful talent.

First Cam Allen and now Alex Alexeyev.
Sorry to hear about Alex. I think he’s a good kid, sometimes stuff happens and we learn and grow.
We don’t know what happened, maybe he was protecting someone or it was a regular barroom scrap. Happens way more than we think.
Hes still young, hes drunk, and hes Russian, i dont think think its that big a deal
I was expecting a trade or offer sheet with Alexeyev over the summer.
A.A. Need to go to A.A.
