The HARSH REALITY Of The Winnipeg Jets Season

Today let’s delve into arguably the most surprising story of the NHL Season, the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets completely shocked the hockey world not only making the playoffs after all their offseason changes, but also winning the presidents trophy in a dominant fashion. But even with all their regular season success fans were more interested in how the Jets game would translate to the postseason, which we now know is a bit of a toss up. So today let’s breakdown and analyze the Winnipeg Jets Season and why they had such a sad ending to their story. Subscribe to Jimmy Hockey for more NHL News and Breakdowns.

  1. The Stars are just great from all levels top to bottom. As a Texas resident I have never had a bad interaction with a Stars fan

  2. I genuinely hate bitching that the refs screwed us over because thats the sort of thing you should be able to push through if you want a cup.
However… the Jets, on top of all their injuries, had the most ass luck on the road.
Obviously round 1 and 2 were pretty different situations, but i want to talk about momentum.
The 1st two periods in game 3 were close. Then the go ahead goal was kicked in, and the Stars came out swinging. Not a good look for the Jets.
In game 3, however, they did play better. Even better then Dallas most of the time. And in that game they got the most bs penalties i have ever seen. Constantly being on the PK kills momentum. I wont deny Otter was absolutely the better goalie, too. But the penalties against the just were just awful. So much so, i think, that even the league felt they made bad calls, because back in Winnipeg they made some calls (or ignored penalties) in the Jets favor for a while.
I was glad they stayed out of game 6 for the most part and let the Boys cook.
The Stars had a strong performance, both goalies played very well, and losing Josh Morrissey in the second was, in my mind, the tipping point between two pretty even teams. Hes a big part of the penalty kill, and playing 5D against Dallas was just too much.

  3. I wish the Jets could have gone further, but there are 31 other teams that say the same thing

The Jets this year have given their fans memories that will last a lifetime – both in the regular season and in the playoffs. As entertainers, that's their jobs, so on that metric – this has been a very successful season

  4. Proud of the Jets this year. Even if they didn't get past the Stars, theyre also a very good and hungry team. It sucks when the best teams in the league are in the same division.

  5. Connor Hellebuyck will never backstop the team to a Western Conference championship let alone a Stanley Cup title. Unless GM Chevy trade him away, Jets fans will continue to waste their money.

  6. Florida and Dallas just look like monsters. Heart breaking the way the Jet's went out but hockey is hockey.

  7. Only the unseasoned jets fans are up in arms, more mature ones understand the process of growth and appreciate the successes we had such as game 7.
