Recently got into NHL and rooting for Leafs. Thank you for being an outlet for news and updates on the team boys.
Good defence at least? Goals can win games, I think offensively offensive forwards are required.

Funny how Bertuzzi's name never comes up. I keep wondering how he would have performed in the playoffs for Toronto.
He did well to build a playoff team but was unwilling to change his plan and realize that the core 4 or 5 cannot win together. He should have adapted and realized the style of play we had was not gonna win a cup. I am happy Brad triving will stay. He made some great decisions and he needs more time to work with this team. I think this is a good start to a new way for the leafs to be developed. I want patches back, Johnny t if he takes less money and Lorentz. Marner was not treated well and was mid managed. He’s a great player and will do better elsewhere but not here because of the make up of the team. He’s the odd one out.

Stop going to their games, stop watching them on TV, Stop buying, Leafs Merchandise, Stop Buying LeafsMemorabalia, Stop Supporting the Team Financially , Hit them in the pocket book, Then The Leafs Will actually do something to improve the Team, in order to gain the huge profits once again, that is their incentive not a good winning team!!

Give Tree some more time, he only just got here & has been here for only 2 years. I think with the restraints of Shanahan Tree's was somewhat handcuffed, Get rid of Shanny & his asinine "Shanaplan" let Tree be the GM & Hockey Ops guy, because he did bolster the D-core decently.
We have not missed the play offs since Shanahan got here. His biggest mistake was letting hunter go.

Shanny was oblivious to Babcock’s tactics or simply looked the other way. Who knows how much damage was done in the early stages of Marner, Matthews & Nylander’s career.
You can have 10 star forwards on the same roster, but if NO one wants to get the puck, then the stars won’t score! Without grinders, there’s no one to go into the dirty locations on the ice. Should have traded nylander long ago for a grinder or two; I’ve never seen someone so scared to get hit!
Just because you have a Stanley cup team on paper, doesn’t mean you’ll get one! Detroit Red Wings 25 straight seasons of making the playoffs, did they win all cups ? Nope, not until everyone clicked as a group and YES they had tough grinders, lots. They weren’t scared to go in front of the net; even their Captain Stevie Y would block shots when Detroit was winning 5-0 with a couple minutes remaining. Leafs need grinders, not more teary eyed, whining goal scorers! But im not a leaf fan, nor any team, just love good old hockey games; that keep hitting and playing the old fashion way… With ❤heart; something the leafs dressing room is definitely in need of.

I would the leafs to offer Gretzky the job for Leafs President. This could be good for Gretzky and leafs because as he is from Ontario and his knowledge of the game and hey it couldn't hurt I don't think. And Leafs really need a fresh start and I think Gretzky would a great new fresh start and new beginnings for Leafs.

I saw Mitch Marner at a grocery store in Muskoka yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Laughton was a terrible pick up at the trade deadline, leafs completely over paid for that bum.

I hated the Shanaplan… it started off looking good. They got a power center in the first pick of Auston Matthews and seemed to be content being patient with drafting (the right move) after years of this team band aiding and trying to take short cuts to win by plugging holes with washed up guys past their prime – Too good for a great draft pick position, and too crummy to make a playoff spot.. remember those years? Then his fatal mistake was hiring the unproven, young, and analytical Dubas and tripling down and more with the core and with Dubas himself despite plenty of evidence that Dubas's emphasis on skill only resulting in soft forwards and D were disastrous in playoff hockey. That's where it flopped and he could of traded some of those duds like Marner for some great returns ages ago. Brendan built a soft team not even close to the powerhouse Red Wings he was part of and we thought we would get and I'm relieved he's gone – Too stubborn.
